Grinding Spots @ lvl 35 or 36?

I’m looking at and I can’t find any good grind spots at level 35-36.

Probably should say your class.

Shimmering flats?

Ogres in Alterac Mountains GG

Shimmering flats is great, but I assure you the competition for the first 4 - 8 weeks of launch will be atrocious. I remember it taking about 4 hours just to do the stupid carrion vulture quest on my last pserver launch because each carcass had 40 people standing around it trying to tag (the very slowly) respawning birds. That’s not to even mention the competition for turtles and scorpions…

The best grinding spots for Classic launch are the uncommon ones. The best grinded mobs are light yellow or green in terms of efficiency. At level 35, I’d say the Alterac Mountain Ogres are a good combination of easy grinding and a somewhat uncommon quest area. Hillsbrad murlocs too. Desolace Naga…

My favorite grind spot around that level are the Hillsbrad Yetis, but those are going to have insane competition for the Helcular’s Revenge quest so…

I think I’ll do STV 36-40. I’m a rogue.

Swamp Jaguar in Swamp of Sorrows. Don’t tell anyone. About 12s per kill and takes like around 300+ kills per level at 36

Eeeeeeeh. That depends. There are a lot of places to choose from, and by 30’s, everyone will be spread out by their leveling speed.

Edit: your actual question should be where is the best gold per hour grind spot, as you should be grinding up for your mount.

Check out Frostadomus YouTube videos.

I second this. His guides are awesome, and the little bits of lore he adds in are actually interesting as hell, and I don’t even get into that stuff too much. You can also just skip that part

Anything with humanoids will probably be the best bang for your buck, as mentioned. This is because of the drop rate of gray items, cloth, bags, etc. Ogres are number one IMO, but IDK if there are Ogres at that level. I know the ones in Ferelas are around that, but I think it’s too low at that level. Come to think of it, what is an up-to-date DB on Classic NPCs?

Arathi highlands elementals. You get xp and elemental fires and such to toss on the AH. I remember aoe grinding there on my mage for a few levels.

This is why so many people prefer Classic WoW. Leveling has been an afterthought since BC, and in Retail WoW it’s utterly forgettable and pointless.

It will be packed though, not least by warriors and friends grinding out the whirlwind axe.

Class?
Faction?
PvP or PvE?

Anyways. Desolace is pretty good in my book. Usually pretty empty, except for the occasional Warlock out doing class quest or people going for the big skellies down south of the zone for the SM quest. Plenty of skinning possibilities and decent loot-tables as well.

Thousand needles, the guys up on the tabletops, until the Robes of Arcana pattern drops. Fun times.

Shimmering flats.

Arathi

There are tons of mobs right at the flight path towns. Assuming you’re on a PvP server, this kind of proximity is a godsend.

If you’re Alliance, the next stop is Hinterlands for their wolves.

If you’re talking about AOE grinding, then I’d say the farms in Arathi Highlands are very highly populated.

Oh man, I was totally jealous watching frost mages go to town in Arathi on my Paladin.

You specced or geared incorrectly as a PALADIN if you were jealous of AoE farming.

You worked as Prot with the first 10 in Holy (Divine Int or Strength, Spiritual Focus, and Consecration). You are a walking 5 man this way and can AoE grind with ease.

Sure, I sucked or whatever.

Paladins weren’t bad at all if they were specced for it, but Mages were still much better at it. So much so they could do DM farming.

Just farm undead crypts. Mages can’t do that because of the cramped quarters, but it is pretty much optimal for paladins.
