Grinding of the Windseeker (Thunderfury)

If it makes you feel any better Atiesh is far less RNG :slightly_smiling_face:

Ouch, that is some bad RNG. Meanwhile you have guilds with popular streamers where it seems like everyone including the ret paladin has a TF. Legendary indeed!

That is a perfect example, Atiesh was designed in a very good way. If your guild farm Naxxramas for 3 months they will get at least 1 Atiesh.

In Benediction-US every MT from every starting guild has a Thunderfury, seems like i am the only one without it. Some guilds have 5 Thunderfurys from the same raid team (core), was talking to yesterday and their core 1 has 6 (4 Tanks and 2 Rogues).

In vanilla wow, I saw one person with Thunderfury on my server (Kel’thuzad), only one! There may have been others, but I never saw it. I don’t think the acquiring of Legendaries was ever meant to be a “Loot system” If you got one, it meant that you were just very very lucky and had a guild around you that supported you.

Has that changed in Classic?? Maybe, because on Atiesh, everywhere I turn in Stormwind, I’m seeing Thunderfurys. BUT, I don’t think that was the intention from the beginning.

Put it this way, be thankful your class has the opportunity to get a legendary.

Some classes don’t even have the option.

I got left half and cleared MC for 8 months in vanilla and never saw Garr’s binding. I currently have left half again and have cleared it for 10 months in Classic and still haven’t seen Garr’s drop. That’s an 18 month streak that I’m on. So you may have another year to wait or you may never see it.

Best attitude to have for low RNG items is, if it happens great, but if it doesn’t it doesn’t, not going commit seppuku over it.

I sat on 1 binding from Oct > May. Just assume it isn’t going to happen and be happy if it does, like Kerg said.

I actually have it on retail, on my paladin. It took me THREE YEARS! until that Garr binding dropped! And I was going in MC once a week, every week. the rest of everything took no time at all, in comparison.

That a weapon exists in game, does not mean everyone should get it, even if you are breaking your back. It is a legendary weapon !. The simple sense of its existence is awesome.

I was MT in original classic as well, played from 2005 to 2007 and my guild couldn’t complete it back then (we had a single Baron binding in the entirety of classic). I guess i’am a very unlucky player, but having farmed it for 3 years now (2 years back then and 1 year now) seems like the loot system is just rigged to me.

Rigged against you specifically? Why are you so special? Ha. It’s just RNG, man. For every guild with 3-4 Thunderfury’s there is a guild with zero.

It’s legendary for good reason, this thing lasted up into black temple for some tanks.

RNG is completely random and many raiders won’t get thunderfury and that’s just fine there’s no need to get upset about it.

And your point is? This is a 15 year old game that has many flaws. We all knew this going in. If you don’t like it, maybe this game isn’t for you.

They were even warned, “You think you do but you don’t.”

I’m definitely having a ton of fun with classic, but that quote holds true for a lot of people in these forums.

They just changed how legendaries work, in legion they had such powerful effects you had to have them or you were pretty much useless, and the game was balanced around everyone having the 2 that they needed.

Tfury is the only leggo we have that is a big deal, because of how much threat it generates, we didnt get our first till a bit ago, still farming our second, while we see plenty of guilds with 3+, because its pure RNG.

Some guilds have multiples because they host multiple MC’s every week. My last guild had 4 MC’s going per week at one time.

Yes, but i am talking about same raid groups or “cores”. I know plently of raid groups that have multiple Thunderfurys, in fact in 45 runs is more likely to have 3 Thunderfurys (perfect pairs) than 0.

reminder that an item can still be legendary without being locked behind a lottery ticket(classic) or being handed out as part of a quest chain / grind (retail).

could very easily be a middle ground that’s good for all sides.

however I dont think you (OP) should expect anything like this to ever be changed for this museum piece.

It’s already double the drop rate it was for most of vanilla, being 6% per binding instead of the original 3%. It’s not going to get any easier.
