I hate to say it but grinding mobs is the fastest way to level up after level 28 . After Darkshire you go to Wetlands, Hillsbrand and arathi but quests are either red or elite and you must waste time to find groups etc. Yes you can do 2-3 quests that are close to town like gathering tusks but don’t bother doing elite quests and chain quests that send you far away.
For example it took me less than 2 hours to level from 30 to 31 and 33 to 34. I was just killing skeletons level 30 at darkshire and ogres at arathi highlands at level 33. When i was 32 level i tried to gain a level just by doing SM GY and it took me 4+ hours.

Yeah… you’re right it is. Vanilla leveling has always been this way, fun factor aside.
This is why dungeon AoE farms are a thing. Killing things as fast as possible is both easy and efficient.
Sadly though as you get into the 40s and higher the XP per level goes through the roof while mob XP gets little better at levels at your level or higher … it’ll take hugely longer going 49-50 than 33-34, be prepared for the boredom.
Yeah i am prepared . Although when i get to 49 level i will go to western and then eastern plaguelands. Exorcism and holy wrath are huge boosts to level up fast.
How funny. I almost purely grinded 29-31. I felt it was a little slow as far as quests are concerned.
If you find the right mob to grind i feel its incredibly faster. I’ll prob get back to questing around 32 in order to keep my gear somewhat up to date.
I am at caves grinding ogres and mining iron. Its a win-win situation
I like farming those whelps in wetlands in the NE corner. Whelps have super low health and low armor so they go down quick to melee.
They also drop a pet. I’ve only gotten one so far and was able to sell it for 32g in the AH already.
I like bouncing back and forth between areas for most green quests. By the time I’ve completed multiple areas, the yellows have gone green and the oranges/reds have turned yellow. I just keep bouncing from area to area and I’m always leveled enough to handle th3 quests quickly.
Keeps leveling steady, gear coming and silver piling up into gold. More than enough to offset flight costs.
It’s only the initial running to fp’s at first that takes a little time. But there’s the swim/drown shortcut from Menethil to Kharanos and then the tram from IF to SW. It’s not really bad at all.
Yes! I loooove grinding! My friends think I’m crazy but I can farm for hours and hours! I haven’t done a quest since lvl 39. (It just kinda started by accident but now I can’t stop!) Lol.
Being on a pvp server makes it more challenging, looking for those secluded areas where you can grind in peace. But it is definitely faster, and you also make a lot of gold too!
