Grimrail Depot: Motion Sickness Elixir Request

I just ran Grimrail Depot on two different toons, one melee and one ranged. I’ve never had a problem with motion sickness during WoD, but apparently things have changed. The things that contribute to the motion sickness on the train include:

  • the difference in expectation between the speed we normally move and what we actually move and
  • the outside environment of the train playing on your peripheral vision. It’s out of sync with the inside of the train

Instead of providing the elixir to reduce motion sickness, would you instead consider making a setting on the user interface (under accessibility) so that a person doesn’t have to provision each of their characters? In my case, it’s doesn’t appear to matter which toon I play. That part of the dungeon makes me very uncomfortable.

Wait, it isnt part of the interface? That’s stupid.

I battle motion sickness, and I have 50 characters! This 100% should be a setting I could set and forget.

I thankfully don’t get sick often when playing WoW, it’s why I have played it so long. Most games I quit after I know they make me sick(looking at you Stray, I got terrible ill)

In WoW for me it’s flying ship fights, that Helya fight in the dungeon of Legion where you’re on a boat with waves moving, Grimrail Depot, and the Hanz & Franz fight.

Since Grimrail will be a M+ soon, I really hope it doesn’t make me ill. I’m scared now. That place didn’t make me sick back in WoD as I had a way I positioned my camera to not look at the moving part beside the train, I don’t want to be sick now.

I would suggest you give the elixir a try. The NPC is at the beginning of the rail car (after the first boss). I tried the elixir and it lessened the effects of the scenery rolling by. However, when I starting moving my toon around the railcar, the slowing effect caused me to break out in a sweat. I hope they can address that issue too.

Or give us back the expanded FOV option that was so rudely removed for “reasons”.
