Grimoire Pet Voicelines REMOVED

I logged in and paid (a stupid amount) for the new grimoires to unlock the Warlock pets I already had prepatch (and already paid for the first time), but now that I’ve unlocked them I find that Blizzard either forgot or just didn’t care to preserve their unique voicelines.

On summon, your warlock pets have a number of lines they’ll say. They also have additional lines that they’ll say when you command them to attack, and even a few when you dismiss them.

The Grimoire pets that came from Mist of Pandaria all had unique voicelines that were different from the default pet voicelines. They originally came from the old Grimoire of Supremacy talent which replaced your pets with stronger versions of themselves. Obviously the Observer has been removed, but we still have access to (through the new barbershop options) the Fel Imp, the Void Lord, the Shivarra, and the Wrathguard, which replace the Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus/Sayaad, and Felguard respectively.

For example, when you would summon the Fel Imp (as recent as 9.1.0, as in yesterday), one possible line was “Yo, my favourite warlock! Did you catch that arena match last night? Mhm!”. Or one line when you commanded it to attack was “Uh, excuse me? Don’t talk to me like I’m one of those PATHETIC creatures you had when you started out!”

There are many many more lines, and each of the aforementioned grimoire pets had them. Now they’re all gone. The Shivarra doesn’t seem to say anything at all, not even the succubus voicelines, and the void lord and fel imp just use the default voidwalker and imp voicelines.

This is a really REALLY serious loss, a big enjoyment factor of those pets were the cool new lines they had. “Ahh, a new world to devour.” “Really? You summoned ME? Ahahahaha!”

I desperately hope someone on the team reads this and implements a fix asap.

As a side note, moving the customization to the barbershop means that the summon pet icons for these pets were ALSO removed. For example your sayaad icon would be replaced by a shivarra icon. Now it’s just a sayaad no matter what.

To reiterate, these things were all functional and in the game as of YESTERDAY. This isn’t some old feature that got removed years ago. We warlocks enjoyed all these unique voicelines up until literally today.

Same, this is so stupid and didn’t happen for druids when their forms migrated to the barber. Imagine having to farm the flame cat again…

Now I don’t know if I should wait or buy the new glyphs as I am unsure if this is a bug or intentional. They are all very expensive now.

I was looking forward to this patch for warlocks. Somehow I feel we have lost more than we have gained… Observer, Voice lines…

I really hope this is a bug, but I’m afraid it’s not, since I’ve been reporting it on PTR.

They’ve been slowly removing demons’ voicelines over the years. Imp and Wrathguard’s voice emotes have been missing for a while (see https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/where-did-my-demon-sounds-go/163745). And now Fel Imp, Voidlord and Shivarra (RIP Observer).

I Really hate to be that negative, 'cause us warlocks have been asking for these customizations for such a long time, but honestly, I feel like we lost more things than we got with this patch.

I’m right there with everyone. I miss my Fel Imp’s voice and the little snippets he would say. My very favorites were, “Yo, my favorite warlock! Did you catch that arena match last night? Mhm!” and “Gonna make it back just in time to reach the Nether Shore.” The best one yet, “You ever wanna kick back, pound down a few ales, you let this imp know, mkay?” They made them feel more personal. Please Blizzard, please bring the voices back! It’s bad enough that we have to pay out the nose or rerun old dungeons for drops for Grimoires of the glyphs we’ve already had for years, but can’t you at lest make sure we get every minion back as it was with the voices and all?

I miss the lines too.

Why take them away when all the resources are there anyway. It makes no sence.

I didn’t even realize the base imp lines were gone! I don’t play with it in retail (always fel imp) so I wouldn’t have known. Now that my fel imp is stuck with default imp sounds though, I AM noticing that even the base imp voice lines won’t play. I can go into classic (wrath or vanilla) right now and my imp has far more to say, like when I tell it to attack. This just feels like a really weird oversight, and I wish I could open a ticket about it to get SOME kind of response from Blizzard. The “submit feedback” option in game is virtually useless in my experience.

I just noticed today that the felguards attack voicelines have been removed, and he has some idiotic growl instead now… the new colours were so highly anticipated but its like blizzard have decided to wreck other aspects, its really soured the gameplay now

Just remove the class entirely already. No one enjoys playing it anymore and stringing us along for “future buffs” is getting old

Seems to be what they are trying to achieve, similar to how they gutted metamorphosis so no one would play demo before regurgitating it in the form of a new class.

Too many new players now screaming out to alter game play that ends up wrecking the enjoyment for people that enjoy for what is.

Support new, innovative change or $%^& off out of the class and go play something else.

Not to be a big nerd here, but the Wrathguard lost his voice lines (to attack, dismiss) years ago. He says something when you summon him but he goes mute after.

Legit makes the demons feel empty without their lines. I just came back to play and now I’m stuck with Mr High Pitched Babbling Imp voice. The Succubus and Incubus have different voices based on the model why not the Imp??

Yeah definitely not a fan. I’ve noticed at some point since the patch that SOME of the Fel Imp voice lines seem to be working once again? None of the “on-summon” quotes are working, but some of the combat ones are back. Could be that they’re working on this? I haven’t noticed the same for the shivarra yet, ALL her lines are still missing.

So just if anyones still monitoring, I resummoned the original Felguard yesterday and was relieved to find the original voice lines are still intact. It seems only the new skins have the voice deleted with a brainless stupid sounding growl. Heres hoping the devs complete their work and transition the voice across all the new colours or at least give the player the option to toggle on which they want to hear.

Nothing mentioned about this problem, even with the news about customizations. I don’t remember where but I read that they know about the problem.

Terrible. I just started playing a few weeks ago. I liked the little questline for the new imp models. I liked the customization options in the barber shop.

Now the negative. I know I had the Fel Temptress orb before. Why was it stripped from me? I don’t have the time to go back to the Cathedral for endless hours of farming in the hopes
of getting a new one.

The Shivarra is just lame now. They have reduced her height, taken away her weapons, and stripped her of her monologue. Just really bland now.

All these beautiful art models from Legion that just are gathering dust. Why can’t we use them? Not asking for new abilities or greater dps, just more options.

I play almost exclusively demo now. Unless you wish to gimp yourself, you are pretty much forced to use the felguard. It does 2.5 times more damage than any of the other pets. All the demo talents are directed towards the felguard.

So you have the felguard or Wraithguard as the only model. Where is the female equivalent? From many options to no options.
