Grimoire of Sacrifice

IIRC it was semi-viable back in Legion and would semiregularly proc modest AOE damage. Has anyone tried it out? I’m supposimg sharing a spot with a talent that gives 3% more damage makes the damage gain on, for example, chaos bolt alone more substantial, but I’m interested in other people’s perspectives.

I really wish they’d just give you bonus % spell damage so it actually scaled with gear again like the pets do.

Blizzard finds anyone who wants to use Sac so they don’t have to deal with their awesome pet AI as total scum.

It offends them, but rather than make it viable or remove it they just leave it in the game as a trap so that if you take it you do less damage.

Maybe if the damage difference is kept negligible & perhaps sacrifice was instead given a defensive purpose (I.e. A considerable health regen / more mitigation via soul leech) then it’d be an interesting choice to weight depending on the content you’re using it for.

Another way to approach it could be to further differentiate the talents. Summoner’s embrace as ST, and Sacrifice as AOE (or even vice versa). But given how there’s alot of variables changing in the coming alpha I can see that being hectic

As it stands though sacrifice (while a cool concept i’d love to see expanded) doesn’t offer enough incentive towards it’s use. 3% dmg buff is still a safer bet

Just needs a HP and Damage buff

Warlock, destro/affly needs a lone wolf play-style, or if they truly want us to keep a pet, make sure they don’t die to a fart in pve and pvp.

Exactly this. I play exclusively without a pet. Needs a better tradeoff

Summoners Embrace is simply better than Grimoire but I don’t like to control my pet so I play with pet active and put it on passive.

Just revert it back to MoP version that buffs damage and gives heal over time. Simple.

This would actually be great

Wait people control their pet? I just put their abilities on auto so they use them whenever they can and then just let them go about their business while I cast. Are we supposed to control them? LOL
