For those who are new to WoW or don’t remember the old days: We couldn’t always hide armor. So in MoP they added an item called Griftah’s Authentic Troll Shoes, which was invisible, so we could transmog our boots to that item and effectively walk around barefoot.
So Blizzard says we don’t get “hide pants”. I understand. I disagree, but I understand.
So as a compromise, how about an item like the GATS, but for pants. Invisible pants. An item we could farm for it if sufficiently motivated, for the people who really want it?
That way, the grind would keep most people away from it, and you wouldn’t see a great surge of people without pants in Stormwind and Orgrimmar, but the aesthetic wouldn’t be denied to those who really want it.
Why would one really want it? Because bikini armor is a staple of the fantasy genre, and the modesty swimsuit our characters wear when unequipped is of good quality and generally matches the race and the heritage armor well. If you were to hide chest and pants while keeping everything else, most Heritage sets would turn into good looking HD bikini armor, and that’s nice.
Picture this. Two versions. The one that’s easy to get, makes your legs sparkle relentlessly. For the true true hide pants, 1% off of some annoying dungeon. Picture the sparkly legs!
I noticed that there are some pants with ripped cutouts in the sides. They do NOT look good. Hover, a nice-looking version with deeper cutouts would fix it. That way we would have “safe pants”. there is also the “loincloth” type of pants that sadly isn’t actual loincloths and are pretty ugly. the closest to actual loincloths are several belts but they have no backside. Basically, we need pants that are designed to be used with these dresses like robes.
I don’t know why they’re so stubborn about improving transmog (based on how slowly they ever make changes). But I don’t really see the point in doing this vs just letting us hide the slot like we can the others.
