grievous is dumb and makes m+ less fun no healers are signing up for groups this week guess ill just go play overwatch this week. stop designing affix’s effecting healers and tanks it just runs them all away when its already a struggle to find one on a good week.
what makes you say this when compared to the other smarter affixes?
Is that where you have been the past few weeks?
I think by now you have complained about every single affix.
my prediction is that next week - aside from the usual complaints about tyrannical, unsuccessful m+ players will be complaining about how quaking is hard.
we’ll see!
Grievous has been especially bad this season because of Prideful. It won’t be as bad next patch.
Top 2 worse affixes
-bolstering
-quaking
Honorable mentions
-necrotic
-grievous
-spiteful
-storming
While necrotic and grievous make it harder for healers and tanks, they aren’t necessarily bad affixes. Bolstering and quaking on the other hand are just awful. No reason they can’t just let players dispel bolstering. It turns the key into a fortified and tyrannical key.
And quaking is just miserable. There isn’t any fun to be had during quaking for anyone.
Quaking is absolutely fine. Get out/stop casting for 0.5s, big whoop. Most in game models are big enough to support 3 melee range players at the same time. Some people just can’t play if their 6in dagger doesn’t make visible contact with the enemy, but I can assure you, you can hit it from much further away.
The only issue with quaking, in the past, was that it did unavoidable and guaranteed damage, it doesn’t anymore. I’ll take an incredibly small dps loss to the group (in the worst case scenario) to the a small mistake leading to a huge time loss.
yeah i used to hate the old quaking - it was much more difficult to deal with as an affix…very difficult on the mana because it would interrupt your drinks
I like it. It’s hard. Everyone has to help me help you, the affix is what M+ is all about. Teamwork makes the dream work baby! Adapt or die! (Or play over watch and cry about)
Had a warrior with 4 stacks and 50% health go run off to the next pull on her horse while I’m back by the boss drinking. Warrior died of course.
Pretty sure its just ppl not knowing what grevious is yet and expecting the run to be exactly the same as last week.
Quaking is not bad at all. If you are a caster, get weak aura. It will help you plan out your dps/heals so much more. Grievous though can go to hell. There is nothing fun about that. Unlike Necrotic, it doesn’t go away after combat ends and Pride doesn’t proc Necrotic. Grievous is so punishing, especially in PuGs where people are like “gogogogo”. Certain healers like Disc Priests and MW have a harder time keeping multiple people up. There is nothing enjoyable about this affix.
If people were about the damage they take, then it wouldn’t be so bad. But there are plenty of PuGs where they don’t eat food (even when we have a Mage!) after combat and expect the healer to burn their mana to keep them up through Grievous.
why do I feel you play DPS?
is it because you casually shrugged off the 2 worse affix that cause headache for group… ‘’ tank and heal deal with that… but I can’T be bothered to stop casting for 0,5 second’’
Lol, I agree.
-Bolstering, I don’t know how to dps them down evenly so one gets too strong
-Quaking, I don’t know how to keep my eyes off my action bar and get silenced every time
Bolstering and storming probably the 2 worst IMO, if bolstering didn’t buff damage and only hp it’d be a lot more tolerable
Bolstering has other implications. Part of which is that all 4-8 enemies need to be alive for much longer than usual. Typically, enemies die off allowing the tank to relax a bit as the pull goes on, that’s counter to bolster design.
There is a weak aura that will mark the highest health mob and if everyone funnels damage into that target the pack will die at the same time which voids bolstering.
imagine being a resto shaman and complaining about grievous.
this is like a hunter complaining about quaking
Are all these affix fixed by simply playing a holy paladin or resto shaman?
I’m often times thinking, their toolkit cant be THAT much better than mine, but is it really that simple?
Probably depends on which spec you’re using. Disc is pretty great in a solid group, but holy is probably better nowadays for terrible groups.
hpal doesnt deal with grievous well unless they’re kyrian.
rsham and holy priest do
