So… I have discovered a new way for villainous players to grief others.
I was trying to sell a bunch of elixirs for raiding in trade chat and this guy whispered me and told me to COD them all to him. I did as requested, but 3 days later I still had not been paid and had not received the items back.
I looked into this and found out that COD mails will return after 72 hours IF the receiver does not open the mail. However, IF the receiver opens the mail and does not pay, then the COD mails are not returned after 72 hours. What happens is that they stay in the receiver’s mailbox until 30 days are expired and then they are deleted.
Now, am I the only one who thinks this is completely stupid? This is a glaring hiccup in the way Blizzard programmed the mailing system as it is an easy way for players to grief others into losing their items.
I have written a ticket and I have tried talking to the dude’s guild, but I have yet to get any concrete help.
Anyhow, I just wanted to let everyone know about this as I think this should be fixed. If someone attempts to grief via COD, your COD items should be returned to you after 30 days EVEN if the receiver opens the mail. It is so obvious that I do not understand why it is not like that already.
Be careful everyone!
