I have been leveling some alts in the 50s and I have noticed the same horde constantly at the same flight path sheeping incoming until honorless drops and then bringing them down with 10 friends. I make a habit to report this every time but after a few weeks, they are still there. Is this not considered griefing? It’s going on right now kurinaxx, lights hope for the last 2 hours. I wish these kinds of people got more hugs during their childhood.
Pvp happened on a pvp server! Ok now that’s out of the way, has anyone had blizzard intervene or any evidence of action against this?
That is part of being on a PVP server, and under PVP server rules, is
allowed. Which is why I no longer play on PVP servers, or WM on.
I have been playing since BC was hitting stores. The only time I
have heard of Blizzard intervening is when the island
opened during MoP. You had to port to the island, and a group
of Alliance were camping the spawn point killing Horde before
their loading screen was done. Since no horde players could
get to the island. Blizzard stepped in and told the Alliance
“you had your fun. Now its time to leave”, which they did.
If you try to report for flight path or camping body, you’ll go through the questionnaire blizzard has before you can submit ticket and you’ll see that there is a big red text saying that PVP on PVP server is not against the rules, so no…
I used to camp FP too or BRM because its was the only way to rank up or else you’d lose to those doing it. Now, though, WSG queues are 8mins so it shouldn’t be happening that much.
It’s definitely gotten better for alliance levelers on my server the past 2 weeks, that’s the only real upside to the reduction in WSG queue times. The rank 12+ are able to just focus on premades, so they’re not out at the usual spots (BRM/Steppes/Gorge/EPL) farming people.
I’m literally running into way more <60 alliance when I’m out farming than I’ve seen in a while…
i took two toons to 60 but I’m not a PVP’er so I’m on a PvE realm for a few weeks now and there’s a ton more dungeons and raid pugs going on. it’s a nice change of pace.
PvE Servers have different griefing rules than PvP Servers. However, as someone mentioned earlier, they may tell you to back away from porting areas. Just to give the opposition a chance, on a PvP Server.
PvE Server seems to have a more limited amount time and can be considered “zone disruption”. Saw a “zone disruption”, on a PvP Server, once. The FM was constantly getting ganked for over 7 Hours…
What I find a common theme here on the forums is the number of people who follow this exact thread of reasoning:
I don’t like something.
It’s someone else’s fault and it must change it so I can tolerate it more.
You don’t like the game. Stop playing it. Maybe just leave it to the people who are enjoying themselves. I know that’s like level-eleven logic, but at least try to imagine, just for a moment, that it made sense.
What’s the difference between getting killed at a flight path versus getting killed anywhere else? You can’t ban PvP on the basis that it is “cheap” or “unfair”, because then there would be no wPvP. Honorless target is enough.
You’re not entitled to get to access every zone you want as conveniently as possible at all times. If flightpath camping triggers you, fly into Hinterlands before going to EPL and take a few extra minutes getting there.
If this was Vanilla and we had human GMs instead of ai, maybe yes. I mean after a few reports they would spectate and then sometimes tell the players to go away. I remember being in such a situation myself.
It’s great to see you contradict your own position in a single post more than once. Haha lvl 11 logic indeed!
Some people don’t understand the difference between healthy use of game mechanics and ones which actually destroy the game. Have you not seen what has happened to imbalanced pvp servers?
Regardless, did some digging and it’s certain other mechanics to remove the honorless which are abusing and ban worthy. Not cc’ing until the debut falls off. Which is fine, and all i wanted to know.
If you feel the need to lash out at me and put words in my mouth for this post, please deal with whatever issues it is which you are avoiding.
PVP servers are basically anything goes for the most part. I do believe they do something if a graveyard is held down for multiple hours (8+) and you can’t safespot to avoid guards or use terrain exploits to gain an advantage. Otherwise, those unemployed people are free to camp a flight master til they pass out from boredom. I do not believe they can sit on top of the opposing faction flight master in a neutral hub fishing for mis-clicks so guards kill the mis-clicking player. But that’s about it.
!! Why didn’t I think of this. Anytime we get enough people to contest. Word gets out to all the horde waiting for queues and five raid groups of zugzug turn up within 5 minutes. Welcome to the alliance horde current pvp meta due to variations in q times and pvp ranking min/max.
It’s fine, I enjoy world pvp, this is not world pvp though, same as if I go to STV and gank some lvl 30s over and over. Why don’t they just fight back?
It is not considered against the ToS. This is what happens on a PvP server. Unfortunately for a lot of Classic players they are not familiar with how WoW was back then and thus rolled PvP servers because they heard this is where the action would be. Most of the players from Classic would be very happy on a PvE server. I was originally a PvP server player but knowing how the player base has changed I rolled PvE this time and am very glad I did. If you play Horde however, PvP servers are basically PvE servers so you will be fine.
