I used to play on Wyrmrest years ago and have been away from WoW for a while in general. I have some questions about the state of things: How is the horde/alliance ratio as far as activity and all that goes? Is it generally the same as it was a few years ago? I was thinking of doing a Kul’tiran DK whose body was so broken that the soul was bound to armor but memories are intact but I am not sure on how well it would play out. If that doesn’t work out so well then I am not sure what I would do, I like the Zandalari a lot but typing in an accent might do me in.

More Horde active here than Alliance, but from my understanding, you’re not looking at anything as lopsided as Moonguard. Also, it depends on what you’re after. If you PvP in Warmode, Alliance generally outnumber Horde. Looking for walkup RP, and Horde hanging out in Orgrimmar/Silvermoon generally outnumber Alliance. Most of the bigger progression guilds are also on Horde, but there’s some on Alliance too.
I hear some people hang out and RP in Boralus. It’s definitely worth checking out.
The way Zandalari very clearly enunciate their words makes this unnecessary. If anything, their style of speaking comes across as stilted and overly formal. Just type as you would, but keep in mind that they tend not to use contractions or slang. People will be able to hear the accent in their head.

I could probably be fine typing without using contractions, used to that a little bit from the way the clans talk in Battletech. I suppose which faction I play doesn’t matter so much as long as there is plenty of activity and I enjoy my character.

Playing what you enjoy always trumps everything. And depending on your character, cross faction RP is always a possibility. There’s the new Elixir of Tongues that lets you communicate in Common/Orcish across factions, as well as the CrossRP addon that has some other little quality of life features to make it easier.
RP events that have both Horde and Alliance characters in attendance are a very common occurrence.
My biggest issue is that I am so indecisive with this sort of thing, I think of all these different things and it gives me analysis paralysis.

Dude it’s soooo good.
I am so indecisive that it hurts my brain. After observing people for a bit yesterday, I have seen that basically everyone that plays a Zandalari types the accent out and it seems to give off the impression that they aren’t as sophisticated as they should be. Hopefully what I mean by that makes sense and doesn’t sound harsh.
