Green Thumb is really worthless

So, you would think you’d want to use this on a valuable herb. But blowing a 1 hour CD for one additional Luredrop is just…bad. Would have been better if it just gave us a huge finesse bonus instead.

I just hold it until I find a lush herb. Otherwise, not using.

You find a lush node, use an epic mulch and green thumb and then you pray to RNGesus for a bountiful harvest.

Green Thumb is just a concise representation of how bad herbalism in general is right now.

Also the entire mulching tree in herbalism is 100% useless and costs more in material value than what you get in return. Most of the upvoted wowhead comments are from people warning not to use the ability or spend any KP on it.

It’s the last thing I have to spend the points on. xD

The green thumb transform a normal node INTO a lush node I’ve been told. It gets you the same extra rolls you’d get from a lush node. Using it on a lush node is therefore a waste. I know, tip is frustratingly obscure. And I too filled the mulch wheel dead last.

It’s this many months into TWW and I still have no clue wtf is happening when overloading a sporefused plant and why I get stunned sometimes and not others.

You have to pick the odd one out. 2 mycobloom and 1 orbinid? Gather the orbinid and so on. But yeah, the only one worth overloading is the irradiated ones for the duplicate you will get . Overload was done dirty in TWW imo.

That’s what I do

It would be cool if it guaranteed some rank 3 herbs tho. Really feels bad to get 18 copper rank herbs

You mean you do not like gathering a pittance of herbs each gather while things like potions in Alchemy take an absurd amount of herbs each craft? I am shocked. :stuck_out_tongue:

Joking aside, yeh, it is awful.

Feel like the same for the sharpening knife too.

The one good thing about herbalism in TWW is the farm they gave us to plant seeds. Makes herbing incredibly lucrative when you can get a bunch of guildies together for a farming session.

It’s not worth overloading. Once you max stuff, overload only Altered and the arcane energy nodes.

It also goes to show how much better mining is than herbing.

Herbing has the overload on irradiated which gives two extra normal nodes one time.

The rough equivalent, overloading ez-mine modes for mining lets you mine something like eight additional nodes before it explodes. And that’s on top of mining nodes giving more resources in general, spawning additional nodes from rich deposits, etc.

…And then get…what? 4 more? 10 more? A new car?

Just seemed like a bunch of hoops to jump through for a super marginal reward, but maybe I’m missing something.

Do NOT use it on lush. Thumb transform any node other than lush INTO a lush… Meaning you get the extra gather rolls that lush nodes have on a regular node.

DO NOT use it on lush.

What I was reading is that Lush adds a second roll, while green thumb adds a third. Do you have a concrete source?

You can use it on a lush. Normal herb is 1x rolls (normal roll, finesse roll, enhanced finesse roll). Lush is 2x rolls. Normal + green thumb= 2x rolls= lush. Using it on a lush gives 3x rolls.

This is not true. They are fairly well balanced. Both give 1000 herbs or ore per hour at max using all available enhancements. (Not counting mulching; that is not economical.)

Herbalism has an enhanced finesse proc from node 20 of each individual herb circle in Bountiful Harvests. This means that non-overloaded nodes yield more herbs on average than mining, so it balances out with the EZ-mine proc. To give you a sense of scale, a lush herb with the green thumb ability can proc a grand total of 27 herbs if you win all the rolls. (3 from the normal roll ,3 from the finesse proc, 3 from the enhanced finesse proc… and this rolls 1x for normal, 2x for lush, and 3x for lush + green thumb)

Obviously the probability is low to get all of them to proc, but it is not unusual to get 5-6 from one herb node (provided you’re stacking finesse ofc).

I don’t feel like overloading an EZ mine is ever a safe option. Those extra nodes seem like schmuck bait. I usually overload the Webbed for Cloth (23g a pop) or Altered.
