All just my opinions/preferences, but…
The basic ones:
- Not pretending to be an important lore character (or related to one)
- Not sporting xmog that makes you look like an important lore character
- Easy-to-read messages/emotes/etc. (proper spelling/grammar basically)
- A TRP about page that isn’t a whole a** novel — I think the best characters have something short and sweet, and it makes it easier to roleplay with ya
- Having TRP3 Extended (this is just a personal preference since my character utilizes a lot of TRP3E items)
- Acting silly, funny, whimsical, or wholesome
- Looking at/targeting whoever you’re speaking to and turning your character to reflect what’s going on around you.
- Not being some semi-omnipotent or 100,000+ year old entity
- Not randomly lewding
- Not engaging in significant levels of PDA with significant others in group settings
- Utilizing the IC/OOC switch properly and making it obvious when saying something OOC when IC
- Not having political opinions, excessive sexual/personal information, etc. front and center on your profile
The advanced ones:
- Having something within your TRP3 tooltip that’s interesting and actionable. “Currently sitting and reading” doesn’t give me much to work with, while “Selling homemade beer and used Elf socks” would make it easy for me to walk up and generate a scenario.
- Not obviously and obnoxiously being a straight dude (we can tell from how you write your profiles and how you type mates) playing a female character specifically to engage in some “lesbian” romance.
- Using sensible mounts when mounts are required. Stick to ground mounts most of the time, and if you need to fly, don’t pull out Deathwing or Invincible.
- If you’re gonna stand around and hope someone walks up to you, pick a somewhat interesting or related spot to post up. Druid in bird form sitting on a lamp? Nice. Standing shoulder to shoulder among an entire catalog of shy people and just staring at Lion’s Rest? Meh.
