That was a much better visual cue of undiscovered flight paths the blergh shade of green boot we now have.
Who ever it was in Blizz HQ who decided they wouldnt to change something that had been ingame for nearly 20 years, shame on you. You made it worse for no reason. Shame on you.
Don’t worry, once you unlock them you never need to worry about it again because Flight Paths are unlocked account wide.
Also use your Warband map in the Toy Box on each character to reveal the map.
i find the pale blue quest markers much more problematic

Yeah they look like they are low level quests shade of blue. Its such a weird design choice.
I was thinking the exact same. They were much easier to see in the past compared to now. And sure like it was pointed out, they are account wide unlock and we don’t have to worry about them ever again, but the point still stands that they are kinda hard to notice.
I have vision issues and I barely noticed the different shade of the icon. Thank goodness the quests seem to make us go and talk to the flight masters or I would have missed them totally.
Edit: An easy solution would be to make the icon noticiably greener, like “in your face” green, instead of the subtle tint it is now.
Easiest solution is not fix what isnt broken. The old green ! was perfect. It drew you attention and you after 20 years that’s the icon that you instinctively look for.
The bit about being account wide… ok but lets say WoW has another 20 years… thats the new icon for 20 years worth of expansions
