Can we discuss the pros and cons of this new feature… it looks like we will get to choose a piece of gear which is better than rolling for something we might not need. However it feels like we will have fewer overall rewards now. With the two weekly chests from pve/pvp we at least get two chances for gear and also a lot of extra items that come with those chests. Now it looks like we get… just one item.
Loot+ is gone. It only makes sense that without a Loot+ like mechanic, anything that can target loot needs to be slowed WAY down. Especially something that will be giving 6-7 options to a number of players.
Mythic+ item level is determined by the lowest level of the top X dungeons.
I’ve said before I wanted to see a system like this. I’m very glad they’re incorporating this. I think the idea you get carried through one +15 and earn the maximum rewards is super dumb.
The idea that if you want the maximum options you should run 5/10 +15 sounds a lot smarter. Players who only run 1 will get good loot, but their ability to target upgrades will be substantially worse.
The biggest question is…
Is it like a lotto ticket?
Do I get
Boots Sword Bracers?
Or just a better item overall?
Can that 3rd slot just be better overall?
“Sigh”… every single week theres a new way that ion will try to control every single thing players wanna do.
I do not look for shadowlands…
Imagine looking at a strictly better system and whining that the devs are “controlling the player”. Lol. lolololol
To expand on what Sentenza said, the reason they originally introduced Warforging and Titanforging was to encourage people to keep running content after they got their BiS slots. What they had seen is that a raid would get released, people would gear up, and then stop doing it. By allowing gear to forge up, people who already had the BiS items still had a chance at getting better gear by getting a War/Titanforged piece.
Since that won’t happen anymore, they’re going to significantly reduce the rate you get gear to compensate.
No thanks. There are already a few content grinds in Shadowlands. I don’t think I like the idea of making M+ grinding mandatory. Getting three options is already a big deal. In fact, if the 3rd slot is higher ilvl, that’s actually a nerf to the system, because then the 3rd slot wouldn’t be better, the other two slots would simply be worse, so you’d have 1 good item and then the option for 2 bad items.
That’s a good point. I certainly don’t have time to grind 15 dungeons a week to feel like I’m getting the best upgrade. I wonder what will determine the ilvl for the raid bosses though… like if I ran 4 bosses on normal and 1 on heroic… would I get normal or heroic gear…
If you do the same things as you do now, IE: your +10 each week and nothing else, then you get the same number of options that you do with the current system; one. If you clear the raid (even on normal) do a little bit of pvp, and maybe push a few keys, which is really NOT that much effort over the course of a week, then you suddenly get SIX options.
I can’t see how this is anything else than an absolute win for players.
Just saw a Towlliee video that assumed that we were eligible for 9 pieces of loot…
Special note on the UI:
“Once per week you may select a single reward.”
So this gives you the option of choosing one piece out of the selection of 1-9 options, and I would assume that the actual reward scales toward the difficulty of the dungeon/PvP, and not the volume/quantity of content run.
