I just got this as my vault rewards. Bit confused as my understanding is this is PVE Raid gear, but has the PVP Equip bonus tagged on it. Do the set bonuses work in pvp zones/instances? What is going on?

Yes this is possible and yes it works in pvp. It’s the best way to get other stats than vers too

Henlo. Yes you can get raid tier in the PVP row and yes it will scale to 424 in PVP combat. You’re just missing out on the versatility stat though.

Be grateful that you got something with a tier bonus. So far I have had 3 or 4 items (4+ bosses in normal raid and 4+ mythic keys running in the 8 range) and I have seen zero tier gear yet. I have friends that have 3+ pieces but so far zip.

Yep, and you can get upgradable tier in your Mythic slots. Cementing that, once again, raiding is literally the worst way to get loot.
I only got 2/3 on my PvP Great Vault last week. Generated my Subtlety PvP gear and got the PvE Class Tier Chest and Gloves to choose from. No Versatility stat on either, both upgraded to 424 in PvP and both were 1/9 Honor upgrade too. I submitted a ticket thinking this is a bug. We’ll see what the official answer is.
Missing the versatility makes these peices sh*t imo. My vault was useless this week
It’s relative to the difficulty you are raiding at.
Max Valor upgraded tier is equal to the worst single raid tier item level (Senneroth).
Mythic+ vault only tier is equal to 2 raid tier slots (Daethea, Kurug)
2 raid tier slots (broodkeeper and Raszageth) are stronger than any tier available from anywhere else in the game.
Still stupid it’s the only way PvP can get tier pieces lol

We can get tier like everyone else on the 20th of jan and most tier from pve is signfiicantly worse than the pvp stuff in pvp due to ilevel gaps.
Got my first tier piece. 402 Chest. flex
Now for bad luck to kick in and I don’t see a 2nd tier piece this season lol.
