I’m sitting at over 10k casts trying to get the Great Sea Ray achievement in wow right now, 7220 recorded by rarity + around 3-4k in mechagon that don’t get recorded, and haven’t caught this mount, have been farming it for over a month, and yet still haven’t caught it.
So I’ve wasted at least 48 hours of my life trying to catch this in game, unable to do anything else but sit in front of a monitor, not even leveling an alt or trying to acquire something else.
and yet blizzard says they don’t want people botting, while they make an achievement a .001% or less drop rate? and they still want me to give them money to do this, and what really surprises me is that I still do.
They probably don’t but it is hard for me to believe they care much when they don’t actually ban cheaters anymore and they only suspend them.
But back on topic, I am glad to hear that Blizzard added something new to the game that is actually rare again and gives players an actual goal to work towards.
It’s not rare, during first week it had like a 10% drop rate. They only sell for like 35k in most places, I just wasn’t one of the “privileged” first few to acquire it. they shouldn’t change drop rates on things mid expansion, and then overcompensate this much.
I got it some weeks ago and it was just random…took a week or 2 of mechagon fishing. Don’t expect this to drop easily, takes forever if you got bad RNG.
I heard people have gotten it doing the secret fish achievement. Not sure if the Ocean toy can catch that fish. Didn’t work for me but that toy is fun when you have to wait around for a queue.
