Gravestones instead of skeletons

For Hardcore realms, anyway.

What I’ve noticed is hitting “try again” instead of release will remove your corpse on log out.
Transferring realms also removes the body. Logging back in and out and then deleting the character creates a skeleton. Releasing and logging out leaves the body as long as no further action taken on the character

So heres an idea for your characters legacy:

When you die, releasing or logging out will create a grave on your death location.

Mouse over the grave will reveal:

  • name of character
  • level they reached
  • time /played

Alliance get stone slab, horde get a crudely made cross. The assets exist in classic anyway.

Graves will disappear on maintenance day

People will use this to draw dicks on the ground in the starter zone. Welcome to the internet.

Yeaahhhh, nahhhh

The width and length of these grave assets would mean it would be far more efficient to draw phalic looking objects using skeletons 6x the length, plus theyre more distinguishable with the white bones

Come to the human starting zone. There’s like 10 corpses, I’d rather not say the names. Nothing will change.

Ain’t nobody getting buried, let alone having a granite headstone carved.

That mess is expensive, yo.

(Multiply the visual spam of one headstone times the 90 thousand toons that died the first day. No thank you.)

Then just limit it to level 60 characters then.

Ok this is a fun idea only thing is in starter zones it may get overly cluttered with grave stones.

Maybe have it above a certain level you get a grave stone?

Level 10 onward would make the most sense due to being able to xfer servers

Level 6 would also work which should be when players leave the starting area.

The level 10 part to a degree. Maybe level 15 to 20 instead because someone hits level 10 they just die and do that to just spam gravestones (idk why they would but there’s someone out there I’m sure that would do that).

But maybe 20 for grave stones I think may be a better estimate than 6 or 10.

The challenge mode for level 10 is 2 hours

So average players would probably range 4-6 hours

Even if you wanted to spam gravestones as somebody following the challenge mode, your risk of dying escalates dramatically before you reach that point.

Making 3 gravestones would take 6-12 hours to form a sentence. Kinda not worth the time investment lol

Also if you release and log out, but dont delete the character, the body stays put. So right now you could do this exact thing, it just wont have /played and level attached
