That sounds great.
If I had an interrupt…
That sounds great.
If I had an interrupt…
Psychic scream? I have wondered if it would work
All CC - including Psychic Scream and probably Chastise - already worked to break the root.
This is just a minor annoyance and another advantage for classes that don’t have to worry about their CC being on CD.
The much more annoying things about that dungeon are the fact we’re the only healer lacking a poison dispel and not having an interrupt gets painful when you see a Poison Volley cast go off you could have nabbed from the elites.
Only healer lacking a poison dispel… And the only healer lacking an interrupt.
Somehow we took the spot of being the only healer missing both the things all of the other healers have.
The poison dispell is what ever to me.
It’s not making sense, since palas have it and it’s done via the light and taught in church basically…
The missing interrupt at this point seems rather hostile from the devs and makes priest rather bad. Especially since interrupts again are one of the most important things, with disrupts only making mobs recast immediately.
The poison cleanse will probably be something you care about as you get into M+. Almost everything this season is Poison or Curse and we can do neither… Supposedly because we have an offensive purge. However that offensive purge is not useful at all in PvE.
Just make purge a choice node with a different dispel type if that’s the reason we can’t have 2 dispel types.
Gentle reminder that shaman has Purge in addition to curse and poison dispel. And the best kick in the game. And mobility. And Shining Force. And even more powerful niche utility than priest does.
Dispel Magic is not why priest can only dispel diseases. Priest has the worst dispel profile of every healer because it has antiquated design sensibilities.
Once upon a time, only paladin and priest could dispel magic and priest traded the ability to dispel poisons for being the best at dispelling magic. But everybody got to cleanse magic when Cataclysm came along and priest never got another dispel category added, ostensibly because it was still the best at dispelling magic.
But then Mass Dispel was finally useful in more than one encounter for a patch and Blizzard turned it into Bad Revival, making priest worse at dispelling magic than monk and having no upside.
But they don’t have mind control or immunity removal
Don’t forget that they didn’t have a raid buff until 11.0. Apparently complaining about double-standards eventually works unless those double-standards are being applied to priest.
PvP and PvE can and should be balanced differently.
It should be easy to add PvE utility as choice nodes with powerful PvP picks. That’s why we have these talent trees. And don’t claim the two you listed are not solely for PvP. Any time Mind Control has been used in PvE it has been patched out by Blizzard within a week rendering it useless. And immunity dispelling has never been a thing in PvE.
If Priest were consistently awful in PvP you’d be singing a different tune I’m sure.
I was being sarcastic, lol.
Really? Not even one time?
Genuine question as I just can’t recall anything myself.
If that is the case then that is just sad as that then is an obvious oversight when it comes designing with that immunity dispel in mind.
Warriors can also remove immunity or they used to be able to? I can’t recall if they still can.
The point is that I think more of our utility should find more use in PvE… however when this happened in Dragonflight, we became too good and got Mass Dispel nerfed because of it lol.
Just can’t win, either our utility is useless or overpowered which then forces it to e nerfed into being useless again lol.
Ah such is the life of a Priest lol.
Mind Control and Mass Dispel’s value in PvP is a meme justification that Blizzard uses in earnest to justify priest’s PvE tools being extremely weak compared to other classes.
He was just poking fun at how Blizzard’s expressed position regarding priest design is that it’s okay if priest tools are narrow to the point of parody because their tools are very good in PvP when no other class is held to that standard.
Poison cleansing totem just isn’t counted by blizzard as part of the dispel balancing, which is dumb.
Maybe they’ll give it a GCD cast time, change it to a single tick, cap it at 5 targets, reduce from the radius from 30 to 15, and put it on a 2 minute cooldown this season?
I giggled a bit
