So, I finally got around leveling my Rogue, and Grappling Hook is like… absolutely broken.

5/10 times it doesn’t hook AT ALL and goes on CD. Is this a known bug that hasn’t been addressed yet?

Very much so, now that you mentioned it. The animation happens, but you don’t get any effect. And with GH it just doesn’t hook on to anything, so if you even try to GH mid air like you were able to in the past… well… that won’t end well lol.

I dunno what Blizz did to Grappling Hook but they broke how it interacts with terrain. I know for a good while you can use it practically ANYWHERE that doesn’t require a path to it but ever since Dragonflight, they messed with it and even when you can get to the spot in question by foot, you tend to stop halfway or remain in place when Grappling Hook goes off. Its very infuriating at times.

Grappling Hook is a budget Heroic Leap and I’ll die on that hill.

I agree. Except worse. More like a Temu HL at this point.

HL has had some issues with not finding a path, but at least it doesn’t waste a CD when it’s not allowed.

It’s hard to not be critical of this company when the game is in this state… constantly.

I mean, I am trying to use it in the exact manner I have in past expansions. Seems like a reasonable expectation.

If the GH can’t get you over a small hill, that the hell is the point of the ability?

It took Blizzard like 6 years to fix Enhancement Shaman auto attacks I doubt outlaw rogue grappling hook is high on the list

My Rogue is Outlaw. Always has been. But okay, can you explain it so I can enjoy the class better then?

I’ve found a higher success rate when I jump before I grapple.

I’ve never really had a problem with it. Some of the time it gimps out if you’re trying to leap onto another “plane” or “level” of terrain like say trying to leap from the ground to a rooftop. But GH will have no obstacles at all and still just fail and go on CD.

I’ve noticed this happening with my demon gates lately, too. I’ll put it down and then be unable to actually use it for no real discernible reason. :dracthyr_shrug:
