Graphics Resolution Keeps resetting to Custom

Every time I leave the client my resolution keeps resetting back to “Custom (3536x2160)”. After I log in from character select I can change the setting back to “Default (7680x2160)” and it works fine. I do not believe its an addon, because I disabled all addons and it still happens.

This started recently, post TWW patch.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Login
  2. Resolution is set to “Custom (3536x2160)”.
  3. Change resolution to “Default (7680x2160)”
  4. Exit client
  5. Login
  6. Resolution is set to “Custom (3536x2160)”.

Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G95NC
Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 4090
OS: Windows 11

what resolution is set on the desktop? i have it set to 1920 x 1080 on the desktop and Scale set to 100% (down from 125%) and in game and it seems fine (not resetting to custom)

My desktop is set to (7680x2160)

I found the cause. Windows PowerToys (FancyZones) is causing the issue. I have been using this feature for years, its not clear why its causing an issue now.

The fix is to change a setting in PowerToys > Settings > FancyZones > Windows > Uncheck “Move newly created windows to their last known zone”.
