"Graphics card out of date"

So once the servers went up it said my graphics card was out of date. I got this laptop like 4 months ago. Is this a bug? Everything seems to be working fine. Is anyone else getting this message or is it just me, and if so, what do I do?

Without more information, first step is to verify that your graphics card is on this list:

I… think? It has kind of my graphics card I think? I THINK I have Radeon Vega (at least that’s what the sticker says) and I think the list says Radeon RX vega, I’m guessing that’s different?

Sorry, I’m fairly new to pc and unsure on how to find my actual graphics card

Previous patches have sometimes reset which graphics card Wow is using. Particularly if this is a laptop, that could be the issue.
Often this message is about the drivers for the card, not the card itself. You may need to check with AMD for driver updates if you have a Radeon card, or with the laptop manufacturer if this is a laptop.

It is a laptop, and I’m pretty positive I have Radeon, how would I go about updating the drivers?

Go to the laptop or Radeon website.

Either of them should have appropriate drivers

Thanks all, I’ll try updating the drivers and see if that’ll do it. Thank you all for your patience and help!

I have a GTX 1080 and getting the same message, i tried to update my drivers but it says i’m using the most up to date ones :man_shrugging:

I have the GTX 1060 and I was dealing with the same issue. Are you trying to update from the website or the GeForce Experience? They both told me I was all up-to-date. However, when I went to the device manager and checked, I got an update. That cleared up the error for me.

What says that you’re up to date?

If device manager, please check with nvidia’s website.

I did both too but i went to the website and now it’s saying i have some new drivers, just trying to find a way to download them without installing the app they try to force on you.

Is there a place to get the drivers without being forced into downloading Gforce experience app too?

Nvidia’s website. You can do the install without installing experience.

Odd, i fished around on their website for a while and all i could seem to find were links that forced you to download both.

It downloads both. You only have to install the driver.

mine says the yare up to date, yet wow still says it’s out of date.

What says it’s up to date? Device manager? If so, don’t do that - check with the hardware manufacturer.

Hiya sorry to bump this but I can both explain this issue and advise it is now resolved.

The card the OP is using was the collaborative effort card between Intel and AMD and was previously supported ONLY by intel.

Installing AMD software would not detect it.

This problem was exasperated by the fact that Intel has decided to stop collaborative hardware efforts like the one that has created the hybrid CPU/GPU card.

10 days ago Intel released a document advising the exact software required to update it and it appears AMD now supports the hardware.

I was in the same position and at a loss for words as to what to do. Grateful that they have sorted this out for us. Note you’ll be using Adrenaline WHQL software and not any earlier software offerings from AMD as they will not support it.

Check your card’s site…windows has not been updating :+1:

What do you mean?

The latest update for the card should be 17/01/2020.
