I fixed it, sorry!

Took a Gyazo of it, can’t post it because /shrug

Details seem to be:
All Heirlooms at 111: 31,200 HP and 3238 DPS
All Heirlooms at 119: 54,380 HP and 4413 DPS
vs
Azerite at 111: 47,180 HP and 4315 DPS
Azerite at 119: 65,780 HP and 4975 DPS

OP how about compare Blue pieces of the same level as the Looms because that’s where they’ve always been tuned. Azerite is higher iLevel base than Blues of the same level AND has all of the stat weight pushed into Main stat and Stam.

Because why would I be using blues when I can easily get 3 pieces of az gear by 111?

Thanks. I would not have guessed that the DPS difference was higher at 111 than at 119. Did you upgrade Azerite pieces during that time at all?

To be honest, BFA leveling is so quick, I don’t see this as a big issue. Especially with all the alternatives for leveling - through quests, dungeons, and battlegrounds. Alts can get a lot of experience in assaults, though apparently someone’s first character cannot see assaults, presumably a bug.

I did standard leveling during that time. I think I may have gotten one +5 upgrade. However, all traits were unlocked immediately. They make a very small % on the 280 pieces. The biggest difference is the primary stats.

That’s not the point.

Looms have always been tuned to Blues of the same level. The item budget is built in and scales. Azerite is an outlier for this x-pac only and the stats are overtuned for their level.

Blues have always been tuned to enhancing and making leveling faster. They’ve also been inherently better than blues at that level. The fact is, heirlooms are supposed to not only make gearing unimportant in those slots, but leveling faster.

In this current format it does neither. You’re fixated on the reaction, not the purpose.

what kind of quick do you want, /played or actual time?

throw some looms on and do incursions. you get about 1/2 a level per event depending on how many XP bonus quests there are, and if you do 5 or the required 4. incursions are easy to do in looms, and roughly 45 minutes to level. down side is waiting for the incursions.

i haven’t tried grinding in looms. i haven’t felt the need to level alts as quick as possible.

can i suggest you make this post on the bug or BFA item forums

posters here are more worried about trying to win whatever arguments they’ve invented than actually discussing anything.

Its really that simple.

Thanks. So it sounds to me like the basic issue here is that they are handing out three pieces of 119 gear at 111 or soon after.

Maybe they should have started with 250 gear at 111-114. Kinda late for that now, though.

I was doing 110-120 in about 50 minutes per level prior to all of this. 30 minutes a level would be my ideal time point, at a semi leisure activity. You have to keep in mind here, I have 23 120 warriors. I’m very familiar with leveling in BFA. The fact that I was seeing 42 minute levels last night compared to 50 is pretty troubling. Not taking incursions into consideration. Heirlooms that have been invested in numerous times, should not result in an 8 minute faster leveling time. So yeah, 30 minutes would be my preferred baseline here.

They obviously knew what they were doing when they excluded azerite traits…lol what…

Which do you think would be more useful? I’m entirely in agreement with you. People seem to have a very fixed idea and it’s weird the amount of backlash I’ve seen on this conversation.

that is what seems to be the case

there are a few “versions” of Azerite Armor; leveling in dungeons you’ll get two identical pieces but one will be higher ilvl if you got it a level later than the other piece.

It’s not 119 gear though considering you’re given it at 110. It is problematic and Blizzard either willingly chose to ignore this? Was oversight? I mean even ythisens didn’t argue the stat differences, he fixated on azerite traits. Which make up like 1% of your damage on these 280 pieces.

the BfA item forums are probably best

and yea, it’s sad but that’s general discussion.

This is a big L2P issue here.

Sure, you have to pop cool downs more and be more cautious, but heirlooms will always be the best choice 100%.

As if I’ll sacrifice some numbers to be slightly smaller over Faster exp Gain.
