My daughter got me started me on this and it has been such a great help during this pandemic.
My question pertains to the “Fragments of the Past: Serpentrider relic” Apparently my archeology is needing some work but I don’t know how or where to start. Do I need to find a mission or quest where archeology is a part of? Can someone point me in the general direction???
The Archaeology profession is a bit weird, as it’s kindof abandoned. It didn’t get updated to the newer profession system in BfA, and it doesn’t even work in Shadowlands. So, it can be weird.
I believe you need to have your Archeology skill level at 525 before you can see Pandaria digsites. So, if your skill level is below that, you’ll need to level it up in the earlier expansions. (Although both WoD and Legion will let you start with skill 1, so those are also options for leveling it.) Here’s a guide for the profession:

With all of that, if you don’t already have Archaeology leveled up enough to do the quest, I’d probably just skip it. It’s a daily quest, not a regular one, so you’re only missing out on a bit of rep for the day.
I just need to know where to start and how, its what I need apparently to get my dragon Bleu who I just hatched and being held captive at the Arboretum. Ya, I’m just a simple memaw who need to be told go here and do this and pointed to the here X start
I’ll try to read that again and see if I can make heads or tails of it.
Thanks
The way the Cloud Serpent stuff works is that the quests around the growth of your serpent are tied to your reputation with the cloud serpents. Each day, there will be some quests you can do to get more reputation. (The ones with the blue “!”) The archaeology quest is one of them. So, if you skip it, it doesn’t stop your progress, it just means it will take a couple more days to get the rep you need.
Probably more important to your progress will be when you get to Revered reputation, you can buy a “Grand Commendation of the Order of the Cloud Serpent” that will double your reputation gains once you use it.
Awesome! thanks so much for that. I have the patience to work a bit harder to get my Bleu out of hock. I actually found a dig site and started on it and now I know why no one likes to do the archeology. UGH! tedious and annoying. They should make it a bit more exciting like a scavenger hunt. Each piece has a clue for the next. This picking at the ground in a large area is totally for the birds
