Hello forums,
I’ve noticed many people complaining about the Gecko from the Geico commercials one shotting them in arena. And I thought it would be a good time to provide some helpful tips that I’ve used in the past to defeat over-tuned classes.
It’s simple really. A large portion of arena is mental. And getting into the appropriate “headspace” as the Zoomers call it, is important.
In S3 of SL, Doors and I found ourselves on the brink of a full-blown mental breakdown. Fury Warriors were gapping us every game, and they didn’t even have the decency to take us to Sizzler first.
Anyways, Doors and I went into every game with a losing mindset. We just assumed we were going to tunneled into our eventual death by individuals that didn’t even have a GED. We knew we needed to turn things around and adjust our negative outlook on the match-up.
Prior to every queue session, Doors and I would watch underdog movie clips to pump us up. Some of the notable ones were, Rudy, Rocky, Cinderella Man and 8 Mile. This got us going. And our win rate against Fury warriors went from 10% to 11%. And all we had to do was check our attitudes at the door!
I’ve already started this mentality for the ensuing season and the high potential that Blizzard added in another lame misguided hero class with wings that will cause me to question life itself.
Some of the movies I’ve been watching prior to Solo Shuffling and getting probed by a Dragon Tail are as follows -
1.) GoT clip where the White Walker King impales the dragon scum
2.) When Smaug gets a lead injection over Rivertown in the timeless classic, “The Hobbit”
3.) The scene in “Dragonheart” where Draco dies and burns in hell
4.) Any clip of Charizard losing at any point in the Pokemon TV show franchise
This has allowed me to crush most Dracthyr players that I’ve come across, my IQ has risen 4 points and my stocks are doing incredible.
Like I said, IT’S ALL MINDSET. I hope this alteration in temperament is as helpful to you as it was to me.
P.S. - for I figured people would ask what to watch to get them amped to fight the other winged abomination class, DH. I highly recommend the movie Morbius, because it was horrendous, and your rage will cause you to have 800 APM or any Vampire movie where they eventually die in sunlight similar to what would happen if DH players left their basement.
Sincerely,
Grandpop Jim
