I got the error…scanning keeps saying that something broke, got to the end of the scan… then it says to update… hit update…starts scanning…gets about 90% done …says something broke, again… repeat, on third go now updating/scanning…because it starts scanning instead of updating… no idea…

third time failed - added exception to antivirus and running Battlenet as administrator now… updating again… as it says that I need to update…still says scanning though… failed again at 100%…

Internet connection is fine…

started Battlenet again… automatically starts updating/scanning…

EDIT: Also uninstalled and re-installed battlenet as well.

Hey Grandkai,

I went ahead and moved your post to a new thread since the original thread may have been caused by something different.

The scan and repair loop you seem to be stuck in can be caused by corrupt game data or a problem with the harddrive. There are cases where the repair function in the Battle.net app cannot successfully repair the game data, depending on how damaged things actually are.

I would recommend to try a scandisk and defrag (or optimize if using an SSD) on the drive that WoW is installed on. Then restart the Battle.net app and PC to see if that helps.

If the repair looping continues, it may be time to uninstall the game fully, delete any left over World of Warcraft folders, and then install the game again fresh.

Thank you

Yeah, I did the repair disk for errors, as well. Restart… the update/scan thing a few times… it’s on a NvM2 - SSD - 1tb - it says nothing wrong there…

I ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling and now it is working…just had to set up all mods again… but at least I can play now  thanks for your help, much appreciated

Also, don’t have to much installed…like 200gb all up on the 1tb drive, as only had this new PC for 3 months. No more error though after re-install either
