most classic guilds are trash and that’s why we have too many gdkp’s
Guilds can make the game the best it can be if you find the right fit.
I’m not saying that this guild was the right fit, and feeling underappreciated does suck.
With that being said you seem to be pretty loot focused, up to being willing to do things that really are unethical to get it.
For you and any future guilds that you may end up joining, GDKPs probably are best. There you can have every relationship be a transaction. This is perfect for selfish people who play for shallow reasons such as the person you seem to be from your posts.

Guilds are an outdated format for getting gear and raiding. GDKP is much better for getting gear quick, MS>OS is much more fair for distribution.
The point of guilds is the social aspect. You might carry some bad players because they make discord fun, or because you want to play with the same people, or at a consistent time.
Yep, and you can also get pugs who will come back because they had a good time with your group, and on occasion sometimes even future recruits. If you have no ethics and screw pugs over well they won’t want to rejoin as pugs. With servers as large as they are it’s probably fair to say “it doesn’t matter, no one will care or remember” but to me treating people right is just what you should do, in a video game or in real life.
We had a pug in our last run because we had a bunch of callouts. Anything he wanted he could roll on with the others that wanted it and we didn’t have people fake rolling.

Seems like your usual weakling managing loot. Find a good GDKP group and you should be good. If afterward you keep having issues in general, I would look at the mirror.
Seems you didn’t read the whole post. I said I feel like I’m being taking advantage of gearing people on my alt but no one does the same for me. I am not a selfish person, but gearing is what makes the game fun to me. That’s essentially the entire point of the game pvp/pve wise you get better gear to give you more of an advantage. Yes you make friends along the way as well, and the game is supposed to be social. Like I said they had no problem doing this to pugs in the past when it was items they wanted.
You lost a loot roll to a pug on your alt and blame your guild? Sounds like your guild did the right thing and rewarded someone that helped them out, fairs fair.

If you think you’re being taken advantage of just play your main. I’m not saying you’re a loot goblin, but the perception within your guild might be that you are because you’re always bringing alts to things.

Why do you care so much about a trinket on your alt. You are not clearing any hard modes and Ulduar will be here for a long time you will get the trinket. As for guilds if you are content playing in a casual guild you likely wont be happy as those ppl don’t care at all. The leadership is incompetent. Unless you have a ton of gold I do not see GDKPs helping you get loot if they even accept what I would imagine is a subpar player. Find a guild that is a step up and things will be fine.
Because it’s basically my 2nd main now. It has higher gearscore than my main. Also I am clearing HM’s in pugs. To call me subpar was just mean.
What HMs are you clearing what difficulty? 10 man is pretty much free for 75% of them
Well yeah my guild didn’t do any on 25. I’m speaking in terms of 10m. I have a group where we’re progging right now. So far did Thorim, Hodir, Freya, Yogg now with XT nerf that should be 4. Very close on Mim and Vezax should have it next week.

I absolutely hate SR for guild runs, personally. Give me LC any day.
LC is great when you are best friends with the council.
I’m not, I just perform well and show up consistently, and I trust them to be as fair as possible (very hard to do) with loot distribution.
But the biggest problem with LC is that when you do bring in a pug or two because someone forgot they had a kid’s soccer match to attend, either that pug is getting screwed or the next in line for the LC drop might get screwed.

You being fine with taking advantage of another person, meaning that pug (getting others to fake roll so you could get what you wanted) rubbed me the wrong way which is why I replied in a kind of snarky way. You say you don’t like being taken advantage of. That makes sense, but why do you think you should not extend that to others? Treating others the way you yourself do not want to be treated is pretty hypocritical.
If you’re more about getting gear than having social connections in the game and if GDKPs sound like they would suit you more then just run those. It’s fine. Plenty of people do that.
I find the “guilds don’t matter in an MMO” discussions to be kind of head-scratching but a lot of the time in these threads it seems people have just been burned a lot. That’s too bad because when you find a guild that’s a really good fit it really does make the game more fun. IMO anyway.

It’s impossible to make everyone happy with loot. But with open discussion and planning ahead, spreading out priority on highly contested items, I prefer LC over other systems for guilds.
That’s not really a problem with LC. It’s simply not meant for pug raids. It’s meant for guilds who know who is showing up each week and can plan loot distribution accordingly.
