Lots of expansion launches were this way, too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if way too many people are trying to play- more than anticipated.
Never try to rush through and be the ‘first’ to play a beta test.
You will be in a queue more than not, and since in this case it’s classic WoW, you won’t be able to do much with so many people around you in the first place.
The beta isn’t going anywhere. Take your time.
