Any other Hunter’s bask in the chest-thumping power and butt-scratching glory of the mighty gorilla pet family?
I mean, I don’t wanna draw the ire of the Hunter forum community(hi Bepples) and I get that BM potentially has slightly better options whike MM don’t often use pets aside from utility…
…but for Survival, I LOVE using a Gorilla. *or any Hunter specs that just loves Gorilla.
It has Lust, Smack! and one of the best defensives in the game (60% DR on 2 min CD). Hard to beat mechanically.
And Smack! C’mon! It’s a gorilla smacking things to death with you.
Anyways, just wanted to sing praise to my favorite in-game homie, that I go everywhere with, King Da’ku for being a true soldier and always keeping it real.
Any Gorilla fans?
Note: This is in no way, absolutely not a MSV thread. I would only be caught dead, ever playing that abomination of a spec on days that end in “Y”.

Gorillas are a good pet, they were the only Ferocity pet with the shield, but the new Scalehides are even better. Slightly weaker shield, but on a 1 minute cooldown instead of 2 minutes. They’re amazing for Torghast or soloing elites.

Any Scalehide is better. You don’t just have to get one from Korthia. The 2 minute damage reduction is only good for short fights (< 1 min). In longer ones, the one minute damage reduction stops more damage overall.
The only reason that Clefthooves are so good despite having the 2 minute damage reduction is Blood of the Rhino giving more armor and increased healing.

Seriously, I understand the joy watching a Gorilla smacking stuff around. It reminds me of the little mechanical rabbit roundhouse kick. Sometimes Hunter pets have small unique things that make them FUN.
BTW, if you have never seen the melodrama of a Corehound feigning death….it will make you chuckle.

Been rolling with Kong since the days of the Ahn’Qiras bug raids. Tamed him in the jungles where we first saw Devilsaurs…(Have one of the too) I also since added JoJo, who is cool because he is a transparent Gorilla. You can see right through him.
If I was BM, both of them would be out. As SV, yes using a gorilla is great !
