Gorilla Self-hitting Orc Running coming back on 8.1 PTR

I just wanted to point out how displeased I am after I took knowledge they are extending the WoD running animation to the new upright orc into the 8.1 PTR.

For those who do not know what I'm talking about, with the model update, Warlords of Draenor changed how Orcs ran. Here's a video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRqjiAqcQBs

As you can notice, WoD orcs run like gorillas and when their weapons are out, they constantly hit themselves on the process.

Straight up orcs came in Legion and apparently it fixed the problem for those who disliked what they did in warlords...

I'm one of those people. Personally, WoD orcs running animations made me race change some characters, and made me entirely stop playing others. When straight up orcs came out I liked it so much, not only the posture, but the running animation. Made me return playing this warrior for example.

Now, it seems they will ruin it again:

I say "ruin" but it's a matter of taste. I play this game since classic and I prefer the orc run animation from Classic-Pandaria. To me, WoD running animation will always be wrong.

I got so surprised knowing people complained about it. In my realm everyone around me, was very happy with the new posture/animations. I never heard a single complain.

I'm getting tired of these arbitrary "updates". One day you're fine with what you have, the other they change to something completely different and you're screwed. If I knew my orc would go back to gorilla-like animations I wouldn't had touched it.

This situation is happening repeatedly. Makes me not want to invest anything on this game since there's a great possibility of Blizzard changing things and making what was fine a complete mess without any OPTION of opting out.

Please, at least, make this PTR running animation a toggle. Like it is right now. People who prefer gorilla WoD animation can still choose to keep it. Don't force it on everyone else who is happy with the current animation.
It's not easy being green.
Oh thank the lord that the running animation is being changed. The current running animation looks like my orc has diarrhea and is trying his best to squeeze his cheeks and compress his stomach to hold it in while he runs for the toilet.

"Oh thank god they are forcing my personal opinion on everyone else"

You can still go back to the WoD animation if you change your posture back on the barber shop

There's zero reason to change it on both postures

As opposed to them forcing your personal opinion on everyone else? Some of us want to be upright and not diarrheal.

I'm not forcing anything. I'll go back to the old posture in a heartbeat if that meant going back to classic animation. They are basically forcing the WoD animation on everyone and you're acclaiming them for it.

Yea, because otherwise they're forcing the diarrhea running animation on every upright orc.

You get that right? No matter what they do, they're forcing a non-preferred running animation on someone and if it's between me and you, I choose me just like you're choosing you.
But... but... gorillas run on four legs... "Running Wild" animation for orcs confirmed?

No, you and me are very different.

You want something and you don't seem to care if it becomes the only option for everyone. You just care on what you prefer. You want the upright gorilla orc, you're getting it and it doesn't matter if other people prefer something different.

I want options. You can keep your gorilla orc and I can keep my classic orc and we can both be happy about it

Lol... you're hilarious dude.

You want "options" except that one of the "options" is exactly what you want even though it denies other people what they want. There's no difference. I want upright non diarrhea and if you had your way, I wouldn't get what I want but you wouldn't care because you got what you want and you'd tell me to just go hunchback gorilla and be happy with it.

Well, sucks to be you because it looks like I'm getting what I want and you're not. So like I said, if it's between me and you, I choose me just like you would choose you.

The only difference between me and you is that if I didn't get what I wanted, I wouldn't go making a whine post about it.

Actually he's asking for it to be a toggle so both you and him can have what you want.

You're praising them for cutting out what he wants and giving you what you want. There is a very clear difference. I am sorry you don't see it but that is really on you.

I've said many times by now, you can have it your way, a upright gorilla orc, as long as I have an option of keeping classic animations. I would go back to old posture, it doesn't matter to me as long as my orc run properly.

What I'm saying is very different from what you're saying. It doesn't have to be only one option where 1 group of people are satisfied and screw the other group.

the self hitting thing

explains a lot about orcs
My weapons clip through my body already and I use one-handers/fist weapons. Clipping will never be resolved because it’s so low on their priority list and will never climb up that list.

The upright Orc running animation is so stiff and aesthetically unappealing. It’s just like the male Blood Elf. It’s so rigid and awkward. It makes no sense.

The new running animation in 8.1 is much better. It fits the aesthetic of a hulking Orc. We are not Blood Elves with staves up our rears. We are lumbering giants. It’s appropriate.
Sorry if I misunderstood, but you said "Please, at least, make this PTR running animation a toggle. Like it is right now." but right now, on live, there is no toggle. The only "toggle" is upright diarrhea or hunchbacked gorilla (as far as I know).

Of course, I agree options are better and if they allow upright gorilla and upright diarrhea then of course any rational person should be fine with it. If that's what you meant, then I apologized... but the "Like it is right now" threw me off.

It's okay. Honestly when the the new posture came out I thought it was their answer/solution to those people who disliked the WoD animation. That's why I associated the posture with the animation.

Having a way to choose between animations/posture, mix and match as people would prefer, would be indeed the perfect solution. But knowing how Blizzard has acted so far, this is highly unlikely to happen. That's why I said "keep it as it is right now", because right now, people can choose between the animations (at the cost of the posture, it's true)

As a suggestion, maybe use classic-pandaria animations only on the Mag'har orcs? Let Maghar run like current straight up orcs, and keep "normal" orcs with the WoD animation on both postures as it is on the PTR right now?

This way people would be able to choose between almost everything.. posture, animations... and it would also make the new allied race more "unique", differentiating themselves a bit more from the normal orcs
Thank god we don't have to run like we are shatting ourselves! Good Changes.
you can change your running posture on orcs in the barbershop? really?
wow talk about customization.

Not for long...
Snikrot and Porradaman just need to challenge each other to a Mak’gora already.
