For the event in the maw “Hunt: Shadehounds”, the Gorged Shadehound is not visible despite the event being at the last stage required to kill it. I’ve done this event several times before and familiar with the correct locations of Gorged Shadehound:
Attempt 1) I arrived to the correct location and the event was already at the last step. Gorged Shadehound was not in its normal starting location nor was it anywhere inside of the cave.
Attempt 2) I joined a group on a different shard and the event was at the very beginning. I killed all of the npcs required to get to the last step, and Gorged Shadehound despawned. Unable to complete.
Attempt 3) I turned on warmode and returned to the correct location. The event was stuck at the last step and no Gorged Shadehound anywhere.

1 year later, this is still an issue, please fix. getting really tired of seeing this bugged on day one (of four) and being unable to complete my brute force attempts (separate gripe) on numerous (20+) alts at a mount every two weeks. depressingly, i feel lucky if i get more than 5 attempts every week before it bugs, this week i got 3.
Please, increase the drop rate or, better yet, fix the event, either with a forced timed respawn/restart of the event, or fixing the thing that makes it bug. I have a hunch it is the silly unnecessary chain between phases that will crash/dc people if they don’t use it, thus bugging the event if no one else is around).

Still happening. I guess I normally get to it on Tuesday before someone bugs it out because I hadn’t run into it before (and my shard has hardly anybody on it typically) but it is as stated above.

because i love pedantry, i did the math, the shadehounds event was not available until the second week… confirmed by mmochamp records. because of the rep gating, very few people would have been able to access the event before the 4th week (second spawn), with a small exception of people who put in the effort of workarounds and min/maxing the rep farm. they have also never spawned on a weekend (only reset to friday evening, every second week).

TL;DR, still bugged, since it was first accessible.
Im not really sure why I’m posting this as its getting pretty obvious whoever is behind the wheel of this slow moving trainwreck is not interested in fixing long standing bugs.
Suffice to say, this event is broken once again. Who would have thought the biggest challenge is getting this mount is not RNG, but beating the odds of finding a non bugged event.

I opened a ticket on this after seeing all the bug reports on this, and the GM told me to open a bug report. It feels like they’re just ignoring the issue and passing it between departments.
I care less about the mount and more about completing my meta achi…but apparently it’s been bugged for over 2 years =[

I figured out what causes this. I ruined a phase and caused this once (on accident).
Here’s what happens. I want more shots at the mount, it requires rep or someone with rep to kill the first set of the quest for me so I can kill it.
In other words my main DK can naturally do it and none of my alts can trigger it because they don’t have Ven’ari rep.
So what I did was I triggered the phase then logged onto my alt to finish it (an extra attempt) problem is this is what breaks the phase and causes it to bug out. Once I realized what I did I never did it again.
However most people selfish and won’t care and will bug out a phase just to have another shot at a low % mount.
The Fix:= Blizzard should just make those quests take 0 ven’ari rep so anyone can do them anytime and that will keep the phase from bugging out. Question is will blizzard fix old content and bother with the time even though it’s annoying many mount hunters.
You did not bug the event by doing that. I’ve completed the event numerous times on alts who lack Venari rep, and it respawns just fine. It’s not clear what causes the bug. The only thing that’s clear is that Blizzard has had literal years to fix it and hasn’t.

Well I thought they had finally fixed it as I was able to run it on 2 toons but when I tried on the 3rd after killing the elites multiple times the Shadehound never released and ran in the cavern.
Edit: After a couple more tries it finally was killable. Definitely still needs to be looked at.
Also having this problem; for the past couple of weeks it seems that it won’t spawn on reset day but then I am able to do it later in the week. I am only trying it on my main who is max rep with Ve’nari, so that’s not an issue for me. The box that appears in the corner is stuck at “0/1 Defeat the Gorged Shadehound,” but there is no shadehound or ritualists to be found.

Bugged again, same issue. I hung around for a couple of hours, the event was announced a bunch of times but never spawned.
And bugged again. Seems to work for the first half a day and then bugs out, won’t spawn. I killed it on another character on wednesday morning and haven’t seen it spawn since.
