Goodbye wow

Goodbye to all. I started day1. Had a blast playing in some of the best guilds and awesome players in WOW. Saw some first kills and even got a first drop in game weapon. People logged into my server to just get a glance of my fancy weapon.

Once the Pirate mode took over I was excited only to succumb to sadness with how broken they left us. I left it all behind for several years. I glanced at Shadowlands from friends computers. Read the forums thanking myself for not putting myself in that expansion.

I started Dragon flight with new hopes. Rekindled friendships in new guild that made me smile again. Was lots of fun! But soon end game came with realization that Pirate spec was never going away. Players with specs that could tank, heal, and DPS were outperforming a pure DPS build. Giving rogues 1 slot in any raid. We keep giving us the ole fix it soon. But never do. Several years later and still Pirate spec,… not Outlaw.

Been fun. See you all later. Maybe in a few years maybe this will be fixed. until then Im outie. Love u all. Peace

A bit unfortunate since this is probably the best rogue tier this expac (and rogue was pretty dang good s1 also). All 3 specs are doing well, including the pirate one.

But if you dont find it fun, cant do much about that.

This post is so boring, if your going to leave the game just leave… stop looking for some kind of clout. Your post doesnt say anything… rogues are great right now, just get good or be gone…

Well, shame Classic couldn’t capture any of those old feelings. As, I’m sure you tried it. I’ve found Season of Discovery to be pretty neat. I don’t know why. But, that Quick Draw ability with a bow has felt so cool.

Clearly a level 11 alt. A real rogue would never ask for it, they would’ve already taken it.

While Outlaw is performing great, I believe you need to invest alot or be a naturally good to perform well as a player. I enjoy the spec, but personally lag behind everyone else because I lack the skill to make the rotation perfectly align with the many random procs and such (and that’s with weakauras). Anyway I’m still having fun so I’m sticking with it as long as others will have me along.

Outlaw moved away from being heavily “pirate” after bfa no? Outlaw consists of Pirates yes but isn’t exclusive to them, (pirates, defias, highwaymen, bandits). Combat isn’t coming back and that is something Combat rogues gotta deal with as we were told we are moving forward but are taking lessons from the past.

  • A nudge in the opposite direction but not full swing is something they did with the talent update for us rogues. Id kill for backstab to be worth it on its own and sanguinary vein to return but that aint flying either and it is what it is for us Subtlety rogues. I found joy in making my own thing work and that fits what Ive missed from the past which was beautifully translated into these current trees.

It stinks you’re leaving but I hope you find joy in your next adventures to come. However If you’re on the fence, consider taking a break then come back with fresh eyes dude.

Made a retri pala alt and it’s absurd how much damage you have with the simplicity of the rotation compared to outlaw. I get that it’s rewarding to play a difficult class, but there’s literally no reason for a rotation to be so convoluted just to dish out the same damage.

Honestly WoD Sub was complicated to do max damage but it was more rewarding IMO. I just think that Outlaw has too much going on to do above average results. You really need a lot of RNG to do max damage as Outlaw.

That was not the case with WoD Sub which is why WoD Sub is probably considered the pinnacle of complexity but also being the most rewarding.

The problem right now is that Shadow Dance does everything for Rogues in terms of damage, movement speed, healing and changing rotation based on spec.

Which makes other talents weaker because of the possibility to stack with Dance. No easy answer but have to adapt right now.

I honestly think people who play Outlaw can’t get enough of buttons. They probably disliked the change where Sinister Strike changes into Ambush automatically.
They’d probably love to see Rupture, Expose Armor, Riposte, and Revealing Strike to return just so they got more buttons and timers/CDs to watch! :o

We need more Jumbojet cockpit WAs for outlaw tbh

Gotta be creative. You will be disappointed if you are looking for the OG WoW days. Classic rogue doesnt even work that way in any version. (Don’t believe me go watch roguecraft on YouTube or Warcraftmovies.)

Right now in retail i am playing a sub like a melee shadow priest/ lock and in SoD a Sub hunter/outlaw that i glove swap with mutilate occasionally.

Look at it like its something brand new.

While, I really like Quick Draw, I wouldn’t say it makes us like a Hunter. :stuck_out_tongue:
Being able to shoot off a ranged shot every 10 seconds isn’t much. Even with Between the Eyes. I feel like you could probably capture a ranged spec a lot better on Retail with an Outlaw Rogue. Especially with Grapple Hook. Man, if we got a Grapple Hook rune in Classic…
