I was thinking as long as I’m leveling through some of the old zones, maybe it would be worth leveling some of the old world engineering to get certain recipes. As I’m not super familiar with engineering, I was curious if there are some recipes that would be particularly beneficial. I really want a repair bot of some kind. Reeves I think is one. What else?
Jeeves is Wrath, also good. Does take a bit of farming to get everything together for him.
WoD goblin gliders, both the tinker and the item.
Reeves is Legion, has different modules you can apply to him. You might have to do something extra for the repair module, I forget.
There’s some mounts and pets that could sell well for you, but you’d have to look at your realm’s market and see if it’d be worth it. Weapons can sometimes sell decently as mog items, but that’s more research you’d have to do for your realm.

You’ll need to max out Classic, Outland, and Northrend Engineering to get the components for Jeeves. There are also portal generators found in those expansions and others. You need the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor from a quest in Outland.
For Northrend you also get a portable mailbox and the Nitro Boosts belt tinker.
Cata gives the Elementium toolbox, Loot-a-rang, and the Electrostatic Condenser for getting Volatile Air from gathering.
Pandaria gives the Blingtron 4K, Goblin Glider tinker (currently can’t be used with the legendary cloak), and the Thermal Anvil. You can also make the Tinker’s Kits for the tinkers so you don’t have to spend the gold on them. If you have any herbalists, you can consider making the Sky Golem so they don’t have to dismount to herb. The Pierre battle pet can also replace a campfire for cooking.
Draenor gives the Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife for an out of combat rez and every profession tool (so you no longer have to carry around the Blacksmith Hammer, Mining pick, Arclite Spanner, and Gyromatic Micro Adjuster). You also get the Blingtron 5K and the consumable Goblin Glider kit (needed when you get the BfA legendary cloak).
Legion gives the Reaves with various modules. Auto-hammer might be a good one to make too for when Jeeves is on cooldown (assuming you don’t have the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth, Grand Expedition Yak, or the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur).
