it worked for a few weeks then stopped. maybe if wasn’t necessary to have crazy hard passwords to remember, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
The button is still there when you log out, please remove that button or make it actually do something.

I thought this was a thread about a friend you met in Teldrassil.
Well anyway here is mine.
My 1st toon was a hunter. I was a noob and ran around as a level 10 and this player asked me, “where’s your pet?” I asked “huh”. He said “pet”. “did you train?” “go to this person” “feed the cat ham” “buy arrows” “here is some gold” “tame another if your cat runs away”. and damn I lost many cats.
I forgot his name but he was my first friend in the game. LOL. Back in 2005 where there was no Wowhead and Thottbot was a BOOK.

Why do you need crazy hard passwords… Blizzard allows spaces so create a pass phrase. So you can create something easy to remember like “I spent a summer in Europe” and it will be more secure than C1$btZ

need to enter the password every time the Reconnect button doesn’t work.
it doesn’t matter if i timed out, the game kicked me or whatever the reason, it doesn’t work. even if i immediately used it.

it takes a while for the game to clear and restart. I also see no reason to have battlenet or any other program i am not using running.
I assume you are just being contrary and are ignoring the fact that a feature that blizzard put in the game worked for a brief time and does not work.

Do you launch WoW directly from the .exe or something? Because I’ve never had this problem when the game is launched with the bnet app.

you never have a disconnection? grats. i always use battlenet, i am pretty sure you can’t just launch wow w/o using bnet.

lol… Of course you can. Go into the WoW folder and just double-click on the WoW exe.
But without bnet active, you won’t get access to any of those features. Obviously. And one of those features is apparently the reconnect button.
I never hit reconnect. Ì just exit and return.
Hmm. Usually for me it’s about a minute and then I can get back in if I’m disconnected. I’m wondering if something might be interfering with yours if it’s hanging you up too long to log back in quickly enough. Maybe try Tech Support forum?
Without Bnet, the game doesn’t run properly. Can’t update, hotfix etc. I’ve found that for me, if I don’t run Bnet, then I can run into these types of issues. So maybe it’s something to do with the launchers?
Who knew that asking a question, trying to help and giving an option was being contrary.

You close the game and click play on the launcher.

Closing the BNET launcher after the game opens doesn’t make any sense. Just leave it open and click Play on the launcher. That’s one single click more than the reconnect button. I wouldn’t be surprised if closing the launcher is part of what makes the reconnect button stop working. It’s the launcher that saved your credentials, not the WoW exe.
Warden spies on you while WoW is open. There’s no reason to close B.Net.
Ditto, like right now. I just had 2 random disconnects the past 30 minutes, ISP fine, and ‘Reconnect’ only worked once.

Its definitely inconsistent it seems.
Its always worked for me 100%. I dont know what I do different. I have a fairly small sample size of disconnects, though.
