All joking aside. This isn’t me just saying cope, this is me telling you I’ve dueled competent pvpers from different classes and that’s how they have beaten me. Sure I can still play around it and win in some duels but that’s the general way of beating most Ret Paladins.
I don’t use this shoulder rune and never had. I find it boring and a crutch. It locks you to 6piece t1 and thats boring.
I’ve only used Sealbearer shoulder enchant, I’d like to give the others a try sooner or later they seem fun.
Weapon chain + dispel magic slows + freedom is 20 second cd but last 10 seconds and you can spec into it lasting longer if being slowed too much is an issue

If you can kill in a gcd it doesn’t matter if it’s an incapacitate.
45 seconds for 3-4 seconds of in combat mount followed by an incap is not very long cd if you let someone chill in an incap for a lil while you apply a seal or two after u use the cd
And one minute for a death sentence without trinket cd is pretty short
This isn’t about you or any particular person winning or losing. This is about one shots. They shouldn’t exist. It’s a meme.
Weapon Chain is just not worth it unless you got a secondary weapon just for Warrior fights and I don’t roll like that. Dispelling drains what little mana we have, if someone is constantly dispelling the slows they’re gonna go OOM. You have a 10 second window to figure out what your next move is before the next freedom, which also uses up a good chunk of mana.

Honestly at this stage they should just add resilience to pvp gear and be done with it.
That way people can put time into getting resil gear for proper survivability for PVP, players who run Glass canon or one shot builds will need to think twice when fighting a competent and geared PVPer and Ret Paladins will need to find a compromise between running PVP gear and PVE gear for damage.

Yeah the reason why I think pvp enchant is so you don’t lose new pvpers to an obnoxiously brutal gearing stage, ie only the ppl who have already pvped can pvp. the shoulder enchant would still give some priority to stam gear is bc resilience type stats benefit stam so it’s still be a chase item
Just wanted to add how this will appease both sides of the camps. Sweaty nerds can still one Shot PVE players in Open world and PVPers have more time to react if they get jumped.

Blizzard developers spoon feeding Paladins the highest burst, incredible utility, arguably the best defensives of any class and we get takes like this while they one shot players inside a HoJ.
The 1.6k he’s pointing at isn’t made up because I was the one that posted it. To clarify I was just using it as an example of this is what happens when make dueling rules of no Flasks, no LAPs, etc. You get a Thorns meta.
Image of me is in Cat PvP gear flask unbuffed (I hover a little more over 6k, 7.5k when buffed), Paladin ran at me directly from behind a tree. I’m generally confident enough with them and was being cocky so I didn’t LAP the HoJ.
I can’t tell you what spell exactly is where I regained control but I only had enough time to swap into Bear, miss a Bash, then immediately die as I was pressing Frenzied Regen.
I guess my point was taking away HP buffs or ways to remove a stun is a little absurd for some classes. Feral does not do that kind of burst and needs a little time as we rely on Bleeds and Shred connecting. Not a call to nerf Paladins as I’ve said in the past I find them annoying more than anything, but that’s because I can get out of their HoJ and into Bear before eating something like that.
What you get now in those STV arenas is a Thorns meta. I sit in Bear form with 12k HP, damage reduction, Bear tank gear slaps, and reflect 480+ damage per hit. I’d rather ‘style’ on someone in my Cat gear but when someone hits you with MoM, Torment, HoJ, or a Rogue catches you in one stunlock and all you’re limited to is one PvP trinket the only sensible choice is Thorns.
