I made a post in general chat, when I probably should have posted it here. What kind of mouses do you more elite PvPers use? I saw a Razer with 9 buttons on side, and Im wondering if thats really good for pvp and keybinds, especially for fast pace melee classes like a warrior?
I just use a standard 5 button mouse.
I just used something like the m500 forever and it was great.
At some point I decided that I wanted some extra mouse buttons, mostly for lower priority buttons like mounts, rebuffs, portals, etc, just for sort of quality of life because I was running out of keybinds and moved to the g600
The second one you posted is almost exactly like the one I was looking at, at Best Buy. Except its a Razer brand. Would you recommend it for PvP? I feel like someone would need to be dextrous to use it properly, but im willing to try.
Uhhh, I liked the old Razer keyboard I had for like 10 years until the spammed buttons started conking out. Got a new one and it’s having…various issues. Not sure about their mice because I’ve heard mixed things.
There’s definitely a bit of a learning curve. Comfort is king so as long as you’re able to reliably hit whatever you need to in a somewhat timely fashion (wow is relatively slow) you should be good. Most of my mouse buttons are just non-combat stuff.
Or low prio buttons, like sweeping.
Just make sure you super comfy when, like, doing anything. I’ve known people who blew out their hands spamming and/or having awkward binds.
Also pretty sure one of the highest rated players I’ve known just played with some crummy 5 dollar walmart mouse.
This is baffling but also amazing. Ive always wanted to be good with a warrior but there are sooo many buttons and its fast paced. I just assumed people needed those fancy MMO mouses to play. Also, im notorious for keyboard turning. Thought a mouse like this would help that.
do yourself a favor and stay away from razer stuff.
I have the logitech g600 mouse (Kenny linked) and it has been amazing, I have used 2 nagas and both crapped out in about 3 months or so. The g600 is going strong even after 5 years, it finally started having some small issues with side button sensitivity, but still works, I got a new one and it is working fine 2 years in.
Logitech G MX518 has been my go to for years. I hate the weight of all the wireless ones and have never liked too many buttons on the mouse side of things.
Edit: Just noticed they have gone up in price… a lot. Damn capitalist!
Unfortunately the g600 was discontinued a year or two ago. So if you’re looking for a more “mmo” focused mouse with the standard 12 button thumb grid you’ll need to go with either one of the many razer naga variants, corsair scimitar or the steelseries aerox 9.
Now you can still get a g600, it’ll just have to be from a reseller on ebay/amazon for like double the price which sucks cause the g600 was the truly the best of all the mice I’ve tried
Man, 12 button mouses just mean you’re going to get carpal tunnel. Get a regular mouse and save your wrist.
Personally I used the razer naga mouses but I can tell you now they don’t last long I literally have about 14 of them in my draw that I’ve been using over the years. You replace them about every year because either it starts double clicking or one of the buttons stops working. Ive tried to used other mouses but sadly I’m too used to the razer ones.
So true, especially with the older ones. I’ve had like 8 nagas over almost 10 years lol.
Unfortunately the g600 is no longer made. It was my first mmo mouse years ago and have have used three throughout my time playing wow and just recently found out they discontinued making them
Logitech G600 or Corsair Scimitar
They’re basically the same thing. The side buttons have nice grooves so you know what you’re pressing, unlike the Razer Naga.
I like the Razer Trinity
My mouse only has 2 buttons on the side because I grew up a fps gamer. Low priority stuff I can’t find a keybind for gets clicked.
Naga 12 button. They randomly break within a year so I always keep a fresh spare handy.
How do you post pictures like that
I’ve had a death adder black addition for about 15 years I think
Not good obviously but damn that thing is grimy
Then you are just messing up your other wrist. using the side buttons is effortless
