Genuine question, how does a Dracthyr compete with a Mage for overworld traversal?
Mage can teleport without cooldown, Dracthyr have a 5 min CD on a glorified glide ability that requires high terrain to use properly.

Mage is vastly superior to Soar, as is Druid.
Actually Id say Druid is superior to everything since we can even harvest nodes while flying.

I provided a well-explained argument earlier that demonstrated that the combined Drakthry racial abilities are overpowered and in need of a nerf. Clearly, Blizzard agrees and took action.
Kind of wondering as well how Soar itself is OP as well though.

Blizz felt that the utility of soar was out of line with every other class. Sure, you could argue with enough obstacles other CLASSES could beat them to a specific location…but for short medium to short distances that are not around a teleport location Soar would win everytime.
And this is a huge part of the argument. The difference between racial and class abilities.
