Sooo I am looking for an addon to automatically “grats” people in guild who get achievements. I had heard of someone in the guild at some other point that had one where he could put 80+ different custom congratulations messages and it would randomly state one of them each time someone got an achievement… what addon would that be?

It’s cool to give a grats when a guildie gets a good achieve…
It’s annoying when they get “Explore X!” or “Level 10!”

are you trying to make people happy when they beat a boss from 4 expansions ago?
I understand what you mean but it’d be quite annoying to everyone if you said grats after someone got a A Shave and a Haircut

Honestly, if you’re just going to have an addon do it because you just don’t care enough to type it out, you might as well not congratulate someone in the first place.
If it’s not sincere, why bother?
Edit: Wouldn’t it be funny if you’re in a dungeon run trying to explain a fight and all of a sudden a guildie gets an achievement, and your explination automatically gets cut off.
“Ok guys, so for this boss we need to /g Grats!!!11”

It’s funny because almost every new guildie who uses the auto grats addon in Gchat are usually players who faction swapped from Alliance.
Nobody likes the stupid addon, don’t bother looking for it.

For those who are interested, found an addon called Guild Slacker… lets you set up 15 different custom ‘grats’, was hoping for more but it’ll do for now

In vanilla, I used a macro for this. Between players having to tell you they’d achieved something and having to hit the macro button it probably made it a lot more personal.
But reading some of these posts makes it sound like there’s a lot of people in anti-social guilds that never want to hear about anything besides raid schedule changes.

No, we just don’t care that you hit L10 on your 17th alt… I’m not going to congratulate you because you went to the barber shop, or defeated Death Wing for the first time.
If it’s something worth while, I congratulate people for it. Otherwise I don’t. Most achievements in the game are old and not worth anything after a while.
It has nothing to do with being anti-social. It has everything to do with guild chat not being annoying.

grats isn’t even welcome when its manual. it’s pointless and, essentially, still being done automatically. it’s like walking into a store and just giving your standard, generic society-approved phrases. no one gives a crap and it only comes off as artificial.
