So a few days ago I made a post replying to Covlol saying that if I really tried I could get gladiator and maybe even 2700 with 0 experience in 3v3 within a year. So it got me thinking, if I can really do it then I should because those glad mounts look cool af .
Anyways, enough of the backstory, I just had a few questions as to how I should progress to get gladiator:
What are the best comps an rdruid can run?
Should I ditch my vuhdo addon for keybinding targeting teammates and myself?
What’s the best way to find people who I can reliably push with? Like is it worth to put in the description that I am looking to learn and push, or just pug anyone?
Ty for any help
UPDATE: I have done I would say a little over 20-30 games with a mix of 2s and 3s, my biggest problem is dealing with high burst and high cc comps it seems. When I am against things like ww/x I can usually just survive/out heal it. I have problems with ele, rogue, and mage so far (I’m at 1600 so that’s all that’s in the bracket besides fury, but I can deal with fury).
I could see it. Being a healer cuts down on the amount of time you’ll spend looking for partners, which goes a long way.
Probably Dh/dk, Warr/Enh, Demo/Ele, Demo/DK, Demo/Ele or Retwarr?
In no particular order.
Most of the healers I’ve met used keybinds to target teammates (or themselves) then heal, but I have met a few who used mouseovers to heal partners, and even one guy who clicked teammates then clicked his abilities
I think best way to get good at healing is learning how to maximize hps rotation then switching between partners quickly with your own method for dispels whether it be party 12 or name conventions but it has to be significantly fast. Then learning the win condition of your team. Then to communicate to your teammates their defensives.
Then getting partners who do all the same things above in a dps variant and awareness of your positioning to avoid cc either through shapeshift or pillars.
All of the above will take 1000 games easy to be a decent player. When I say decent I mean 2k+ in twos and threes.
Going to 2.7 requires addons generally weak auras and understanding of dr tracking trinkets etc when to push in for that incap roar clone to force the trinket into bash to win the game.
hard to tell after the changes hit today, but id say something along the lines of ret/war, turbo, destro/ele, splay, rmd I think has always been a fun one (gl finding rogues and mages that actually wanna roll with a druid in this priest meta though) maybe even cupid to an extent. All those should be at least 1r viable if played right.
lfg or even asking on these forums isnt bad, I would probably put learning at first until you hit around 1600-1800, then id probably say you’re looking to push.
id say currently knowledge cap is probably more accurate at 1500
do you know why you lost? or did it seem like you got team diffed or something
next time you q ask for genuine feedback if your partners are willing to give it
like ask if you timed clones badly, or if roar bash wasn’t needed when you went for it etc
knowing what you’re doing wrong is one of the first steps to getting better because then you can make plans to use your kit better, and shore up sluggish or bad gameplay
im rooting for you man
(I was playing with Spriest/DH) We were queing against turbo, the priest told me to stop trying to cc while the dps were on them. So I listened to them and just pve’d them the entire time, but I got hexed by the shaman (that was a misplay on my part because I kinda tunnel vision healing) then after the hex was done the hpriest mindgames the spriest in which I dispelled but then the priest said I wasn’t dispelling the mindgames (I linked him the details meter that said I did dispel it) then they said I was skill capped at 1600 and left.
I did ask but they didn’t really give me any other then to not cc against turbo.
So this is a hard one to nail down as keykindings come down to personal preference. I and many people i know use mouse wheel up/down/a mouse button (sometimes a side button or middle mouse button commonly), for party/self macros.
I would then put shift on all of those for arena123 targets.
Another common keybind scheme i hear about is you move with qwe, and asd are party while a like shift or whatever u wanna use to modify are arena123.
Do note this though, it will feel awkward at first switching to keybinds for targeting, but play like 80 games and trust, youll love it.
Generally keep to this philosophy,
-Target macros should generally be grouped
-easily accessible espcially as a healer
I personally like them all on the mous3 and just having one full hand dedicated to targeting, just feels really fluid. But thats just me again they’re personal preference.
