Gonna need a better way to get Memories

Since a lot of memories are locked behind raids, notably Castle Nathria, they’re effectively impossible to get the normal way.

Nobody is running them, even LFR is deader than a doornail.

The only other solution is through a horrific, time gated grind of the currency for an RNG chance to get the Memory that you want.

Mythic and M+ aren’t so bad. We at least get the “4 Mythics” quest every couple of weeks which drives everyone in to Mythic 0s. But the raid locked ones, no dice.

What should take a 20m LFR run is now completely untenable.

So, maybe in 9.1.5 they’ll come up with a better mechanic for this. I thin I read somewhere that the RNG was spec specific now at least, but the currency grind is pretty steep for an RNG chance, even if it’s a better chance.

Random question…but doesn’t the covenant item that let’s you learn memories you haven’t found yet work for raid memories?

As Nikolo mentioned, there are alternative methods to get memories such as:

It can be bought from a covenant npc for grateful offerings, or from Archivist Roh-Suir in Korthia for research. Grateful offerings will also be much easier to come by in 9.1.5

yep.
it is absolutely stupid that I have to either:

a) wait 45 minutes in an lfr queue for obsolete content
or
b) buy the item to randomly get a memory and hope I get the one I want.

just. put. the. memories. on. a. vendor.

not hard. they should have learned his lesson from legion.

The only change they would need to make is to add a priority system to this. Then they can put the raid ones as the “highest” priority if you need them. Then they could add another priority for the old world bosses as well.

Funny thing is, if you don’t raid, you don’t need the memory you get from the raid…

I guess the Korthia version only costs 2k research. Much easier to get than the covenant version.

Definitely should be able to buy one every 2-3 days

Well to be fair, who is going to want to go back to CN to get a memory for someone joining them in a 9.2 or 9.3 raid? The system needs to be adjusted before the next raid tier.

Agreed

Funny thing is, this is a hilariously inaccurate statement.

And this alone is why I have cared to do korthia and anima conductor stuff. A bit ago bought 5-6 legendaries on a character (has all now for that class but the covenant specifics which will be earnable in 9.1.5) that never did sludgefist or sire, and had annoying dungeon drops.

Hope to increase this in scale for all classes before 9.2 comes.

Basically your best bet is to hit I think it’s rank 5 with archivist, given its account wide. Then spend a little time grinding currency for the random ones. Get as many of the covenant ones and dungeon ones as you can. Then dump your research into the roll items until you get the ones you want. I would of thought they would of had the fire sight to carry the raid powers over to sanctum. Given their not like some piece of armor, their a necessary power for doing content. Yet this is blizzard we’re taking about so it’s not surprising that they didn’t carry it over. in which come 9.2 you will have to do nathria, or potentially grind korthia if they don’t add another roll system like the codex one. For powers you need, which is just fuel to the fire at this point.

You can get it for anima at your covenant or at Korthia for 2000 research catalog

Your problems have been resolved

Funny thing is sometimes the raid powers are in fact the PvP or AoE powers, given blizzard didn’t delegate what kind of powers. Would drop from what kind of content their locked behind. Like case and point back when I was playing aff, my single target power came from de other side I think, I know it was a dungeon. With my AoE power and PvP power coming from the raid bosses.

This isn’t your average bad take

This is, Advanced Bad Take

Hes right though

No raiding past LFR, no end game content in anything, why do you need a legendary?

People in LFR SoD don’t even have a legendary cause they refuse to farm torghast

I know you blindly defend blizz and all, but come off it

How is trapping legendaries behind a previous raid tier that no one does anymore a smart idea?

No one said stuff about the ones in torghast/dungeons, they’re specifically talking about the ones from the previous raid

Better try and get your guild to carry an alt through a dead raid, or sit in lfr que for 5 hours and hope it pops

I am confused why so many people seem to miss the issue. Raiding teams frequently have to replace members or gear up an alt to fill in for a certain fight. Who is going to want to run a raid for 2 years ago, just so they can get a memory for a legendary they need now to raid.

Don’t limit your point of view to just the OP, maybe he wants to move up into normal or heroic raiding but knows he will be over looked because he lacks a critical item that is locked away in content no one is doing any longer…

If that was the only way to get those memories yes it would be a problem

But luckily blizzard knew this and gave us this book I linked above for the answer

2000 catalog research is nothing and people already have stashed anima like crazy

Buy the book a few times and be on your way with your bis memory legendary

Yes, I am aware of this

My original comment was to the guy saying you don’t need the legendary if you don’t raid

Fun fact, my BiS legendary for mythics came from the raid, but guess if I didn’t raid and only did mythics I wouldn’t need it

That’s why I said his take was really bad, which you instantly said he was correct and went on a nonsense talk about how you don’t need a legendary, but hey maybe people do mythics or PvP as well
