Gold Tipping PSA - Enchanting

Tipping is dumb. State your rate, or get less than you mysteriously expect.

There are other ways to make money with your skill, get over yourself. State what you want, or smile as you get tipped nothing or 2gold.

I am enjoying your troll thread you started btw

It comes down to supply & demand. Tbh this is a direct translation to how ppl tip irl lol. But I wouldn’t say there is a minimum tip, that’s kinda imaginery. You should call it gratuity and charge a minimum like I was saying. Make it 20g, which is literally nothing. If you do this, and enough people follow/catch on then itl become the staple

You can put enchants on vellum and post them on the AH for a profit now. Stop working for tips, and start working the AH instead.

Which means ANYTHING we give you should suffice.

I think a lot of people don’t like the enchanter addon that auto invites and is bot like that some people use.

You have your answer right there “should” meaning its your opinion based on your subjective experience and preferences. Supply and demand dictates prices, and apparently there are simply too many of you “highly trained professionals” to make more than 5g per enchant.

For any profession, I base my tips on how much gold I save by not buying the item/enchant scroll from the AH. If it’s saving me like 500+ gold, expect a 100g tip.

Or none at all if the person is rude. Right now, it is a buyer’s market.

Your gold making is coming from scrolls and selling enchanting mats, not tipping from doing enchants that cost you nothing but 5 seconds of your time.

I’m not so desperate to accept paltry tips. If they insult me with a 5g tip, I will just return the mats and not perform the service.

Matters on the enchant, if I can buy it from the AH for 10 gold and get you to do it you gonna get 5 gold mmmkkkkkk I say pay a % of what you can get it from the AH like a tip to your server after you eat all the foodzzzzz

Just buy my scribe’s vellums and sell your enchants on the AH for whatever you think is fair.

Problem solved.

Well technically it does cost them the gold value of whatever they disenchant.

The only “fix” here is to set minimum tip required. Otherwise, why complain?

not really, because the gold value of enchanting mats is always greater than the vendor price of that item.

You need to state a price then. Believe it or not your the jerk here.

Then word will get around and don’t be surprised when your market goes dry. You are the one that is out of line here. You agreeed to do the enchant at a stated price, backing out of it becuase you do not like their tip makes you a bad vendor of your wares.

I don’t have big expectations for tips as an enchanter but likewise I’m on a small enough realm that if you don’t tip I’ll remember and I don’t need to be bothered to respond if you need something in the future.

Maybe if you’re their only customer.

You can’t associate the cost of leveling a profession to those having you enchant something. That’s dumb and a flawed system too.

They didn’t level enchanting to enchant your gear they did it for their gear/guilds gear/ to sell mats or whatever other bs reason.

No one levels a prof to only make gold off crafting crap for others.

Their cost of leveling enchanting is on them and not me.

A tip is just that a tip. Getting mad about a tip is stupid. You want to charge a rate than charge a rate. Offering to do something for a tip and getting miffed about the tip is about as dumb as assuming you can pass off the cost of leveling YOUR profession onto someone else.
