It would just be more practical to mint a platinum coin for every 100 gold coins.
That would take care of the large number creep.

I like how you claim no one is using it. Whilest antedotal, i do see ~10-15 of them per day. The only mounts I see more of are the 4 DF mounts given to you, and the reskins of those (PvP/Raid).
Well, they ARE an ORC, after all. 
Need to eat more rocks imo, need to stop spending all the extra money on crushing it up into gravel.

In Universe 1: Player A has 5000g. He kills a mob that drops 50g. Player A then spends that 5050 gold on a tabard from vendor X.
In Universe 2: Player B has 500g. He kills a mob that drops 5g. Player B then spends that 505 gold on a tabard from vendor Y.
How are Universe 1 and Universe 2 substantively different? And if they are not, why go through the effort to move from Universe 1 to Universe 2?

The gold cap takes care of that. I don’t think 7 digits (ignoring silver and copper) is too much to manage.

or just go loot tuskaar boxes and vendor it. some times im too lazy to go around the world and do them, but i’ll sit in an area where those spawn and snatch it up for several thousand
