Gold sink achievement is hotfixed, now 50k

So now it’s 50k are people still foaming about this?

A more serious question is how no one bats an eye when the token goes closer to 300k+ and can throw gold at it for a sub.

But not a easily doable 50k achievement?

still a useless achievement :woman_shrugging:

They should have upped it. TBH. The WoW token is creeping up again…

If they had upped it after I already started, I would have been extremely pissed off. I did wonder on day 1 of the achievement when I donated my 10k and it showed 20% doing basic math I was like wait after 50k I will hit 100% and need to donate another 20k after the fact.

What awesome shiny thing will I get for throwing 50k at this achievement?

If it is just Some words next to my name, then i say : “Pfeh. unless you can beat ʻThe Fabulousʻ, pfeh i say.”.

Blizzard saw not enough people going for it and reduced it by a measly 20,000 gold (about 28%) and it is still undesirable. Once again, the achievement is a BAD thing to have as it broadcasts to the playerbase “I will spend gold (and maybe even real money thanks to the WoW Token) on literally anything!!!”

The achievement is only the achievement, no other rewards associated with it. But each 10k donation gets 10 Charms mailed to you. Not the most worthwhile exchange in my opinion, but a way to get a decent chunk of charms if you have the gold to spare.

Are players getting a 20k refund?

Seeing as you can only donate x amount per day the most anyone has donated is 40k by now. So tomorrow would be the 1st group of people that complete the achievement.

Oh… heh I hadn’t looked into it but I figured there was a full payment option. Good to know.

reason why people are still mad its a gold sink achievement you get nothing but points and love tokens thats is it

a good way to do this was a pet like the 1million gold one from bfa

I mean, I was never mad about it in the first place…but 50K is still too much of a gold sink for 10 achievement points so I’m still going to pass.

Or 500K for the lightforged warframe, still one of the best looking mounts in the game. They need more gold sinks like that.

I donate 500g and get between 3-7 tokens/charms/whatever they’re called.

Then I go run the dragon race dailies.

I’m good. lol

While 70k (or 50k now) is a pretty insignificant amount of gold, i still can’t help but be amused with the fact that they took away the ability to just kill grind charms, and added a way to spend gold to get them, very on-brand for Blizz :joy:

an achievement is nothing - and tokens aren’t 300k gold anymore but you get an entire month of game play not 10 points for nothing of value.

Based on the amount of outrage here and on other sites I guess I’m going to have to start doing this now. And no, no real money will go to Daddy Blizz. :hear_no_evil::see_no_evil::speak_no_evil:

I’m just going to save up and get the achievement in a few years. Thanks to inflation the gold from the WQs two expacs from now will make the gold sink trivial.

Never been the gold cost that’s riled people up about the achievement, it’s that the achievement is worthless. All it gives you is a little bit of achievement points but that’s it… something that demands gold should give something more idk substantial like a title or mount or something that fits. They could of gotten away with it being like brew of the month club and make it like those who do it get to be a member of the trader’s union and access to special items or whatever.

Don’t know why, but I clicked it.

Doesn’t help it’s raining gold.
