Sooo, i’m almost at the level to get into the shadowlands and i’ve been doing mining and herbalism during my time in BFA on the auction house (Monelite ore still sells well btw) i was wondering outside of proffession what is the best way to earn gold? Threads of fate or story questing?
You’re actually good sticking to mining/herbs in SL too! Should give you some gold aswell as experience furing these last 10 levels.
As for after I usually stick to herbs/inscription but have recently gone herbs/alchemy because I want to try that alchemy trinket once I hit rank 4 archivist codex thingo

early on, campaign with enchanting made quite a bit because dust/shards sold for a lot. nowadays you’re probably better off just vendoring the quest rewards if they’re not purple

Mining / Engineering.
A number of the mats and bots and other gadgets sell really well.
Not sure whats going on but Im making a mint on 74A Repair Bots lately (1000-5000gold each lately)
I made about a million gold just casually selling odds and ends made with engineering after rolling my ‘main’ for SL.
mining / Engineering has been the easiest gold Ive made other than flipping and farming pets/mogs.
engineering? i though it was mining and herbalism that were the top money makers

I only make a lot of gold on herb/ore by flipping on the AH, personally.
Farming it only gets you X gold per hour of farming.
Flipping doesnt really have a per hour limit. youre literally using everyone elses farming time to make gold for yourself.
Ive tried all the professions and while Ive made a ton on crafting the mog gear…once a person has the mog they dont need it anymore. Mats (crafted and farmed) are much more likely to provide a steady income stream as far as stuff you can craft.
Engineering, for me anyway, has made me more gold making the bits like the 74A repair bot thats used to make other things with Engineering than tailoring, LW or any thing other than maybe enchanting.
If youre going to want to farm your mats with one crafting profession, Mining/Eng has been the best for me personally.
otherwise, the two crafting professions that make me a mint are Engineering/Enchanting.
Could honestly just be the realm Im on too, not sure.
Get to max and do the Callings.
Get greedy and have more alts at max and do Callings; the tasks are simple and quick and the reward is consistent.
While leveling my up-and-coming Alts – herbing and mining but that won’t be a huge pay off. Same with fishing, it paid 100g per cast when the expansion dropped but it is down to about 40g per cast (still pretty good but you need a movie on tv to do it).
