Hello everyone. I’m just wondering which class makes more gold per hour. Rogue’s pickpocket farm or Mage’s AOE farm? Considering both class are farming the highest level possible.

Yes mage, but it’s a grind regardless. If rogue is more fun for you, play rogue.

Mage for sure but you’re going about it wrong if pick pocketing is how you farm gold on a rogue. Find a good spot in any high level zone and grind mobs and do mining or herbing.

Pickpocket and coffer runs in BRD is more GPH than any open world farm unless you are insanely lucky with random drops, arcane crystals, or lotus.
Can easily push 50-60 gph in BRD. Only downside is having to constantly scour the AH for keys or spam world chat for CoDs.

mage definitely. Rogue doesn’t even contest with mage but rogue is a good option also.

you point on pp is true. That still doesn’t alter the outcome. mages>rogues earning gold. that is the point of the thread. the pp point, is minuscule.

Rogue gold farming capabilities were severely nerfed prior to 1.12. Mages are the king of farming and Hunters come in at second.

Didn’t roll to farm… but it’s nice to know that if I ever switch to one of my alts that I have a farmer.

That’s actually what I did and I make more on the rogue because I’m mining and herb.

How many players have played a level 60 rogue in Classic and tried to make gold on it for weeks…AND have played a level 60 mage in Classic and tried to make gold on it for weeks?
My guess is that very few players have done both.
Notable that the rogues in this thread say mage and the mages in this thread also say mage.
