Gold Making Respective to the Bronto Mount

You may as well just leave it in.
Why?
Because it completely, utterly, and totally defeats the purpose of implementing something that people who already have more money than Elune can purchase, only to make that money back because now, they have an Auctioneer right next to the mailbox with absolutely no timer or cooldown, and then remove it, so we’re right back to square one. The only difference between Warlords of Draenor and now? They’re doing it with a Brontosaurus mount and the obscene amounts of money that are being pumped into the economy by game tokens and things like 2000 gold Emissary quests, and 42-4500 gold Paragon chests.

You want a gold sink mount, and yet you do nothing at all about the gold problem itself.

I have never, period, to date, since the Bronto mount came out, seen one anywhere but parked securely on a mailbox - they are not being used for anything but by people who already have obnoxious amounts of money, to make more obnoxious amounts of money. You may as well leave it in, to try and counter the people controlling markets on larger servers, and in that, make more money as a business by giving more people a reason to play.

Until the gold-making issues in this game are handled and gotten under control, you could put in a 10M gold mount, and it still isn’t going to remove the issues with economies on servers on this game. The fact you never see a Bronto anywhere but on a mailbox? Is proof of that.

Removing everybody’s ability to earn a few thousand gold a week is not going to bring you the happiness you think it will.

I earned the gold to buy that mount by farming.

The Brutosaur was never a gold sink mount. It was a prestige mount. It didn’t sell enough to really get any significant amount of gold out of the economy.

And a lot of people did. What my complaint is about, is that they are removing a mount that was placed in this game specifically as a gold sink, and not addressing the issues with gold making in this game that required it in the first place. You don’t need gold sink mounts and 90k and 500k mounts, if you control how much money people can make off quests and the like in the first place. To remove it after they literally said that they put it in as a gold sink, defeats the purpose of putting it in the game in the first place.

Control the overwhelming amounts of gold capable of being made in this game, and you won’t need to yank gold-sink mounts that, honestly, the majority of people I see using them are people who simply dumped overwhelming amounts of gold they made from controlling markets back into it, just to turn around and use that mount to re-make the money in a matter of weeks, if not sooner than that.

The only place I see these mounts, is camped on mailboxes by people who control markets on 4 different servers. It would be refreshing to see people who bought it, actually using it for some reason other than pushing other people on the server out of the capacity to be any kind of competition, just because they have more collateral, because they took advantage of a gold-making oversight on Blizzard’s end in the first place. The ease of making gold in this game is out of control, and removing a 5M gold mount is not going to solve the gold sink issue.

Every person and forum I’ve seen did not call it a prestige mount. It was termed a gold sink. Just like the 2M gold Spider, just like the 500k gold triceratops mount, just like the 500g Warframe.

Then why are you upset?

According to you, there is no difference between this and just sitting at the AH in Stormwind. The obscenely wealthy just paid 5mil gold to skip the two second walk to the mailbox.

I find it hard to believe you’ve never seen someone on their bruto thats not next to a mailbox. People park them inside the Great Seal all the time horde side.

In fact, thats what I do when I go afk etc. Someone actually gave me 2000g for using it.

Sounds like you want it and was unable to get it.

I’m going to get crucified for this, but we need a gold squish at this point.

So, your solution to your poverty is to remove wealth?

Would be a cluster, Blizz’s customer support would be flooded with “all my gold is gone I think I was hacked” for weeks.

I’m going to assume this was aimed at me, but you didn’t reply to me.

I don’t have a solution it’s too complex of an issue and Blizzard is too incompetent to have delt with it in the first place. What I will say is you really don’t need more than like 20k a character honestly. The average player doesn’t have 2 million or 5 million gold for a mount. You don’t need that much gold.

This issue goes along the lines of guns and the extreme wealth people have in real life. It’s not a simple catch all, but unless they force you nothing will change.

Honestly if I was gold cap I wouldn’t have bought the Brutosaur as there’s one at every major mail box. Waste of gold at that point.

This.

If it didn’t have an Auctioneer? Maybe you could call it a gold sink then, because it would just be a cool mount with extra seats and a vendor.
But the fact that it cost 5 million gold kept it out of most players’ reach anyway, so people like myself with around 3 million gold (and not enough drive to attempt to out-farm bots/multi-boxers to make more) still have nothing to spend it on.

So, here I sit, with my 3 million gold that I could drop into/out of the economy at any point, and they go handing a “gold sink” (When in reality it’s actually a Quality of Life mount) to the gold farmers, patting each other on the back thinking they’ve solved the issue.

I shake my head at you, Blizzard.
You’ve literally done the opposite.

You could’ve solved this with multiple mounts at 1 million each, and people would have dropped gold on them, but five million for a mobile auctioneer?
I would have gladly dropped my 3 million on a Devilsaur, a Brutosaur, and one of those turtle-akylosaurus bois, but nope. Just a single 5 million gold mount with an auctioneer.
You’ve just made the rich even richer.

They made this issue and unless they do something about it or ignore it it’s not going away. But adding 90k+ rep mounts is an A-hole move to do to the average player just because you gave them millions by your inactions. Blizzard is a joke of a company at this point.

ya its not really a rep “reward” if you need to break the bank to access it

A tax system is the only way to reduce gold from higher earners. Maybe the funds could be used to rebuild some stuff or add to cities.

Take my friend he has at most like 20k at a time period. I think the most he’s ever had is maybe 50k. He likes the 90k mount, but not enough to farm it. He’s lazy, but it’s how most people are. I have like 300k, but spending 90k on a mount I might not use is too much. It’s almost 1/3 of my current wealth. Too much for a mount to me.

I’m more curious about the post-outcome when it moves to BMAH and all those individuals who didn’t quite make the 5 million mark in time. Are those players going to:

A) Save up even more gold to bid against each other on the BMAH for the Brutosaur.
B) Put that gold back into the economy creating super inflated prices on SL goods knowing there are people out there with excess gold saved up.
C) Put that gold back into the WoW token to cash in on game time / blizzard balance and bring it back up to 250-300k+ in gold value.

I once had like 100K via a token and making money through just questing. Too bad I spent all that on looms.

I play the game not Battle for Auction House. Transmogs, alts needing money takes most of mine away.

So much stuff is soulbound and then you have all the azerite gear. Mining is maxed, but I haven’t made use of it. I made several thousand on anchor weeds early in expansion.

Things like Brutosaur are just a different grind or an extra grind to dedicated players. Kudos to them. I’ll be over here in the transmog station like a scratch off junkie

Aside form parking next to a mailbox, i very often use it to do ah-stuff when im camping a rare. It just depends on where you look.
