Since the patch, I noticed when opening mail with gold from sold auctions, it is not displaying the total received after closing the mail box as it was before the patch. I noticed this on my two bank toons that I typically have a couple dozen or more AH sales per day. The sales were there in the mail, and I did receive gold in my bag (my gold total did increase), it just didn’t have the “You gained x gold x silver x copper” message upon closing the mail box that it usually does.
On the second character I tried this with, I then vendored two items to see if closing the vendor window still showed the “Gold gained” message correctly. When I closed the vendor window it said I had gained roughly 500 gold, even though the displayed vendor value of the two items was 1g 67s 50c. I then wondered if that displayed total included the value of my sold items from the mail a couple minutes prior, but that would not be correct if it was. One of the items I sold was well over a thousand gold, and I would estimate the total from all my sold auctions being somewhere in the 1500-2000 neighborhood. I then bought the two items I had vendored back from the vendor and closed the window. I reopened the vendor window, sold the same two items, and this time I got a message showing a gold gain with the correct total (1g 67s 50c).
For the record, I noticed this on a system with no addons installed.

I noticed this as well. I assumed it was an issue with TSM. Was there ever a way to display that stuff without addons? Not seeing any “gold” or “mail” options under WoW settings.
Prior to the patch, I was seeing it even on a device with no addons installed.
As an update, I’ve still not seen it after closing my mail box. However, on my Alliance bank toon I opened my mail and collected all my sales and unsold items and when I closed it there was no “You Gained” message, as there hasn’t been since the patch. I posted my auctions, then vendored a handful of items whose AH prices are too low to auction (probably 10-20g or so total vendor price) and when I closed the vendor window, it said I had gained about 5000g, which was close to what I had in sold auctions, give or take a few hundred gold.
I then switch to my Horde bank toon and did the same thing. I opened all my mail (no gold gained message when I closed the mail box). However, this time, I subtracted my pre-mail gold total from my post-mail gold total to get the exact amount and check it. I posted my new auctions, then vendored a few items too cheap to auction, and when I closed the vendor window, it game me a “Gold gained” message that was about 10% less than the total I had calculated on my sold auctions.
So I guess the approximate workaround for now is if you have a bunch of sold auctions and you don’t want to do any math, just vendor something after you close the mail box and the vendor will give you a rough idea of what you sold when you close the vendor window.

Just came here to post this.
I am having the same problem. I turned off all addons to see if that was the issue, but it is not. Definitely a bug.
Seems to be character specific. For instance my Alliance Warlock, Zirkor-Lightbringer does NOT show gold gained from selling to vendors or from AH, but my Alliance Hunter, Exkizer-Lightbringer, does. Haven’t tested on all characters yet.
Scratch the previous. Appears to be random. Just got a bunch of AH gold on Exkizer-Lightbringer and didn’t show total as it had prior to patch 10.0.0 (though it did earlier today).
and just did another transaction on same character and it displayed the total gold gained…
Thank you! Just came here to post this! And I’ll try that workaround for now
Same, still happening as of today.
Came here to see if I was the only one, glad to see I am not and hope they fix this! I like seeing a total of gold gained after closing the mailbox
Apparently this is low on their priorities of all the bugs they need to fix
