“millionaire complains banks cant hold even more of their money, more at 11”
Or you could sell mounts in GDKPs for 1.5M gold and make roughly $3k in a week like OP
We didn’t sell it in a gdkp we sold it to a guildie that said something along the lines of “I missed celestial defender/dd in 2009 and now that I got this and mim’s head my victory lap of wow classic is complete” they then bought the mount using all of the gold they had amassed since vanilla and quit. They were gold capped even in vanilla classic, so it stands to reason it just kept scaling up in tbc/wotlk. There was a screenshot of them in classic with a bank toon with like 50 edgemasters in their bags, so they were definitely playing the ah.
I also didn’t get the gold, it’s sitting split across like 5 ppls accounts sitting in various gbanks that we have no way of tracking because the gold cap is too low. Now when hundreds of thousands of gold goes missing because people dip their toes into the communal gold pools or someone quits we just lose that gold with no recourse. Yes it’s a problem for the minority.
My main point in my original post was that the analytics used to determine the gold cap is high enough was likely extremely flawed. I would wage money that their analytics was a simple query to check what % of the population is currently above some n-gold threshold, and that is flawed for how classic is played because of gdkps and the nature of wotlk introducing raid mounts being sellable. This post is not meant to be a thread discussing the cause/effects of gold selling, it was merely meant as a way to convey that there is more to be had with the discussion of gold caps.
Well, these are the forums, when you make a topic you can’t dictate the direction of the threads.
This may be difficult for someone with a massive ego who power trips their way into getting what they want to understand but that’s just how it works.
The vast majority of people seemly would prefer that something more important and that impacts far more people gets worked on but at least the CC Kruffzz has your back and maybe the idea has been planted even though Blizzard doesn’t seem to care.
gues you should stop running some gdkps then
I guess I power trip? TIL
The gold cap is added for classic and almost guaranteed is capped using an extremely simple function that any dev could undo in a matter of minutes.
bool isGoldCapped(Player p) {
if clientType == CLASSIC || clientType == CLASSIC_ERA {
return p.gold >= UINT32.MAX
}
return w/e retail cap is
}
It is extremely unlikely that they modified the datatype that gold is stored as because that would be a bunch of needless work they would have had to do and then undo, and fixing it is likely as simply as removing the or in that if statement. Maybe a small amount of UI work but also very unlikely.
It was mostly just funny seeing you try to direct how your thread would go.
Maybe you just aren’t used to posting on forums so you don’t know how they operate.
Of course, you can suggest what you want here, but most of the time nothing changes over it.
Oh im not in denial about the bots influx in Gold creation. But im playing on a server that is rather low in Bots, and the Goldflood still exists. Because first and foremost, it still is the game itself that floods the players with excess Gold, a truth that simply is undeniable. Unless you spend more Gold then you earn for Repair bills, auction transaction fee and Vendor items, its impossible to not add Gold to the server economy. Even people that are “poor” normally are way above the cutoff line of wether or not they add to the total Gold amount on a server, they just are bad in how they spend it (gold that is spend in P2P interaction is not taken out of the server, it just changes owners).
To be brutally honest, if you play regulary since vanilla classic, and do not own above 100k Gold, you either did purposely not care about economics in game, which is fine, or are outright bad at handling Gold.
Raising/Erasing Goldcap is not something that needs to get “worked on”. Its a solved issue, and the client is capable of handling it.
Well thats what i would say, but since apllying Ulduar to the game broke the selection of Weapons as a filter in the enchanting profession, something which should not be related at all, they might accidently release the Kraken by changing Goldcap…
I have the feeling that you are far more invested in directing how this thread goes than the OP is…
The OP missed Sunday by less than 90 min. =/
Look at all these gold buyers self reporting. Blizzard should check the account of everyone posting in favor of this thread.
They should, that way cretins like you can shut the hell up when no one gets banned.
Nope, I was replying to this:
^Maybe I misread it but that looks like trying to direct the discussion to me.
… and sure yeah I’m just tired of seeing Blizzard invest time in trivial things for Wrath Classic, while not caring about actually important things. Of course, the thread doesn’t mean they will but I’m sick of it.
