Ive been playing since 2009 and there aren’t that many spots on the map I’ve never visit. But I was checking out some item locations around Kalimdor and ended up in the very north of Darkshore, and found this little Troll village called Shatterspear Vale. I know for a fact I have never been there before and it was quite pleasant to realise there were still a few small places in this big game that I’ve not visited a dozen times or more.
So, you - have to found any places like that recently, where you’ve stumbled onto an area or location or somewhere hidden that you never had seen before?

First visited the Robin Williams tribute in BFA. Just kinda sat there and thought about stuff for a while. Was a nice little adventure. ![ ](https://d38bqls1q93fod.cloudfront.net/en/wow/images/emoji/twitter/smiley.png?v=10)

Certainly haven’t. I’ve played for a damn long time. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a place out there I’ve somehow missed. If I were to bet on where such a place would be, I would say outland. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been there in so long, but I just have a feeling there’s something out there.
I found another spot in Winterspring. Behind the Starfall Village there is a Den where you go underground and it has these neat pink and purple spiders. I cannot ever recall questing there in early playing days.

Oh now there’s another place I haven’t been to in a long time! Damn, I wanna go exploring now.
Let me tell you about the Whispering forest.
If you go West of the undead starting area in tirisfall there’s a woods in the mountains there that used to be a big open plains you could only get to by using the jump bug off the spider mine entrance or climbing the murlock cliffs to the far north coast (I miss the jump bug) and while it used to be a big open spot now there’s a forest and a magical unique named bear in an area called the “whispering forest”. Now you can just fly there, making it very easy to get to. (Go west of Deathknell, it’s not on the map)
Now the whispering forest area is unique in a few ways.
First let’s talk about the lake.
-There are rats in the lake, instead of fish. The rats just run along the bottom of the lake and never drown.
-The paladin artifact quest did some things here so there’s a twilight cultist camp here and allegedly tyr is buried under the lake.
-There’s a treasure chest underwater you can’t open as well.
-You’ll find a dead fisherman with a neat looking fishing spot, including an umbrella with fishing worms and hooks I don’t remember seeing anywhere else in game.
-There’s a crashed plane in the lake as well.
The theory is that the pilot crashed there, and had to live off of fishing in the lake.
But now for the bear.
Tirisfal bear is the rotten bear who patrolls the southern part of the whispering forest. He just patrolls up and down a set path, he’s not rare or anything like that, and eventually he gets tired and lays down to take a nap. Eventually he despawns and starts the path again. I don’t believe there’s a quest for him or anything special. He’s just there.
So then there’s the Faerie Ring
If you explore the woods you’ll find a Faerie ring (a circle of mushrooms) and some faerie dragons. If you watch them long enough eventually they will gather around the ring, the music will change, and they will start doing a ritual dance and song routine. The wild animals will gather too to watch it. You can get the faerie dragon’s song on a nearby scroll as well for your garrison music player.
The theory is that the dragons are trying to heal the wispering woods, but there’s nothing else there. They just do their dance and after a while they do it again.
I feel there must be a secret here, but it’s unlikely that anything’s lasted this long without anyone solving it.

This reads like a fantastical WoW dream someone had, haha. Sounds cool. Might have to go check it out.

I certainly need to go visit that, that sounds neat.
I assume most people know about the critters with guns that run around on the mesa not far from Thunder Bluff.

There is one more spot many may not know about, and I just visited it to make sure it was still there. I discovered it a few years ago.
Way down south of Ahn’Qiraj on the coast (outside the raid) is the entry to a cave. Inside the cave at the bottom is a sleeping red dragon called Andrestrasz. I have no idea who he is or why he is sleeping there, but he has been there for a very long time.
It’s one of those little WoW mysteries. Its nice to visit him again…makes me wonder if he might wake up in 10.0…

Druids had a random chance to port there with some random port spell they got for flavor. It was fun at times to just cast and see.
A couple of odd places people seem to miss.
- Room of upside down prisoners in Kara.
- The crystal cave in Ungoro (use a inky sky pot.)
- The cave under the whirlpool in Darkshore. There is an achievement for it.
There is also a Reddit for hidden places in wow. https://www.reddit.com/r/hiddenwow/

I was actually wondering where the Robin Williams tribute was. I hadn’t heard about that.
I didn’t look but this is the one I know of.

I never made it to GM island but other than that no.
Oh I did get feared yesterday though a wall while doing time walking. I fell through what I assume was the westfall skybox though I’m not sure. That was definitely a new experience even if it may be a place I had visited…
