TBC brought arenas, and in wrath the only way to get the best pvp gear is to have a good arena rating. This is not right for the players that arn’t the right class to make a good comp (warr + pally). It is also the result of where class balance transformed into what came known as ‘BFA’ where they tried to make classes ‘equal’.
What i suggest is keeping the honor system from classic if the game will ever go past classic, but also reward for arenas. So there will be 2 different sets of pvp gear. One of which you can get by having a high rating (in other words, skill based). While the other you can get by grinding hours on hours on end with decaying honor (time based). They should have similar item score, but different stats and nitches, as well as aesthetics. So players can hybrid themselves with the gear for what seems to fit their hybrid style of game play.
I would also like to see PVE and PVP gear NOT get separated like it has been since TBC. I want them to be equal to each other in power, but with different stats.
Infact, there should be 4 ways to get gear.
- arenas
- honor
- raids
and 4, professions. (would require a lot of mats, and those mats should take days cooldown to make, this will provide more players out in the world farming and make gold valuable again after the epic mount).
This is how the game should go forward.
